About 8 spots right on the shore of the lake - each site has a cutout “step” down through the weeds and into the lake. Ideal for fishing or wading. Water is cleaner in some sites than other depending on winds/currents, but never goes up very far above the knees. One vault toilet, very clean. Sites are mostly gravel, not a ton of grass, and pretty flat. Large campfire rings at each site. Fairly good breeze throughout the day. Solid service with Verizon.

Lots of rough dirt roads meandering the National Forest with some semi-established dispersed camping spots with fire rings. Chilly nights even in July, which is welcomed after hiking and driving around the desert

Dirt road off the highway into the San Juan National First. 4 designated campsites along the road with fire pits. Road dead ends after about 3 miles. Great views across the river gorge to a meadow on the opposite side of the valley. Our site had a pull through driveway of sorts with enough room by the fire pit for a tent or 2. No service (Verizon). Site was made unique by the herd of cattle that roamed the road and surrounding meadows. Kind of cool until they started mooing incessantly at 6am

Cliffside sites with great views of the lake, opposing cliffs, and the dam. Grill, picnic table and shade shelter at each site. Most sites are first-come, first-served. Plenty of space between sites, but not much privacy by way of trees/etc. Bathrooms and showers were clean and functioned well. Can get very windy in the evenings/overnight which make it loud and chilly in a tent. Cell service was pretty decent with Verizon.
