Beautiful State Park

This State Park is in North Dakota near the Canadian border. With a very large body of water that has many amenities from fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. There are bike & canoe/kayak rentals right outside the park and a couple different campgrounds to choose from inside the park, ours was just a few feet from the lake and fishing dock. Depending on which campground you choose you will either have a vault toilet or a more convenient bathroom with toilets & showers! Staff was very nice and accommodating. There was even an Ice cream truck that rolled thru everyday for the kiddos!

Amazing campground!

Loved this campground and yes it is busy with tourist traffic on the nearby road, they park and then take off and hike but it was manageable being inside the campground. Great access to hikes like Iceberg Lake and Grinnell Glacier which are my favorites! Wildlife sightings almost everyday. Great amenities inside camp and showers, laundry, coffee & shopping just a quick walk over to the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. The campground had some great shady spots, even some spots with the river right behind. The park rangers were very nice, there are strict rules to follow because of bears frequenting the camp but the rangers were still very pleasant to deal with. I can’t wait to visit again!

Family friendly campground

Lots of to do! Boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding. Cabins, primitive campsites with great views and Full hook up RV sites. Fishing cleaning station, playground, basketball, volleyball, frisbee golf, horse shoes, on site store for ice, food and wood(WiFi at the store) Bathrooms and showers. Great campground!

Beautiful N.D campground

First visit here, nice campground and layout. Park staff was very nice and friendly. Beautiful views of Missouri River. We stayed in the TeePee this visit but plan on coming back for tent camping. Only complaints were the long haul from the parking area, the vaulted toilets smelt very bad but could of been from the heat! (Vaulted toilet, no sink) And the bugs!!! Tons of flying ants and ticks everywhere, but we managed!

Great centrally located campground!

Beautiful campground and a short walk to Lake McDonald. Shuttles available at this campground. We were in loop A as close as you can get to the lake which is within walking distance. No traffic noise near our site, A55. Got there early with no RSVP and had no trouble getting into a spot. Must keep camps maintained and items put away at all times due to bear activity or you will get warned or fined. Shops and visitors center within walking distance. Had the best time with family camping, hiking and paddle boarding! No showers.

Beautiful lake area

Great campground with a beautiful view of Pactola Lake. We only got to stay for one night but we are going back this summer. The camp hosts were very nice and accommodating! I thought the camping pads were a little close to each other but other than that it wasn’t to bad. There was a store close to the camping area that had everything you could want including boats and paddle board rentals!

Love this place!

Family friendly, great for tent camping and R.V.’s. The River is your backyard, great for hiking and lots of wildlife to see! No showers.
