The site was okay. Yes it over looks a pond. Yes it was pull thru. Upon check-in our on-line reservation was confused. We were told there's a kitchen, you can't order anymore we're really backed up….but here's some pizza places that deliver. For a short time we had quiet. There's wifi….Good luck getting and staying connected. If you plan for a good nights rest, you better keep your windows closed, bring ear plugs, and plan for cover noise. I-57 provides plenty of traffic noise and when you can't hear that, the 3 trains between 1am and 6am blowing their whistle for what seems like 2 miles should keep you wide eyed. I would like to say for an over night it was okay, but with a long drive ahead a good night sleep was much needed. Should have stayed on the road. All for the low low price of $56 night.

By far the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. Water and electric sites and very spacious. Lakeside sites. Blacktop pad sites and level where your rig sits. Tables, fire rings, cooking grills, and limestone site. Well maintained. Very clean. Nice beach. Hosts all very pleasant and attentive. Doesn't get much better than this. 3rd year here and will be back.

We stopped for an over night, arrived late. Owners very accomodating and very nice. No reservation was needed, just stop in, find a site and we'll find you in the morning. Easy close access from I-70, only 7 miles out of Effingham at the Montrose exit. 30 amp, spacious sites. Water available to fill tank. Shower house/bathrooms. Everything very clean. Nice fishing pond. Quiet. We had 30ft travel trailer, no site issues. Probably stopping on our return trip.
