Pretty site, fills up quickly...

This campsite fills up quite quickly. We arrived relatively early, but were unable to find a site and it was just as well because we would have been hard pressed to find level ground for our overland tents without putting blocks on the ground. It’s a beautiful place with amazing spots for ground tents. I will say this, a LOT of different sources state that you need high clearance to get up here…not the case as we passed a few Prius’ making the climb up the road to this site. Get there early and you may get lucky!!

Beautiful and quiet

So let me start by saying we had a wonderful experience here. We had two overland tents on jeeps and one ground camper in our group. As we pulled into the campsite we were greeted by the host who was more than hospitable and drove around to find our site. We chose site 19 which had a beautiful open field behind it, perfect amount of space with flat ground for our overland tent ladders, and a tent pad for the ground campers in our group. This place is kept amazingly clean and quiet off the beaten path and complete with a small little store on the way where we picked up ice for the night. If you’re in this neck of the woods camp here, you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing views on Sawtooths

So this site was absolutely beautiful at Redfish Lake in ID. We were in site 40 which still had amazing views of the Sawtooth range from up on a bit of a hill. I will say the reason this one falls short of 5 stars is that it is a pretty busy campground in June, but we were lucky in that our neighbors did not show up which kept everything nice and quiet. However there is a tent pad that’s big enough for two 4 person tents as well as a fire ring and picnic table. Not a bad stay during the weekdays.

Amazing best kept secret

Ummm…where do I start. We stayed here June 2019 with a creek rushing nearby that made for amazing sleep. Quiet during the weekend, we stopped by here one night for camping. I would recommend picking up groceries or wood in Lolo, MT if needed because not much on hwy 12 on the way there. The camp host kept the area clean and was available if needed. Definitely recommend this campsite if driving in.
