Spacious campsites. Check in was simple with online pre-registration. Walking distance to the gorge
I have not stayed at the campground, but I have used the park and baseball field. The campground looked nice and is in a quiet area. Its close to the Susquehanna river and some great hiking at Tucquan glen too.
Signs for check in were not well marked but the rangers didn't seem to mind that we went straight to our site without checking in. Campsites and the roads through the campground are a little tight. Bathhouse was decently clean. The best part of the campground was definitely the visitor center. Lots of educational displays for kids and everything seemed new.
The state park is gorgeous. We hiked the shades of death trail which was great. Close to Lehigh gorge and Jim Thorpe too.
Sites are somewhat close together but this is not a "camping" campground. There is plenty to do here with the water park, playgrounds, and Western theme areas. Also close to the Beach and boardwalk. Check your calendars though. We stayed during OC bike week and it was loud! Our fault for not checking the calendar
Campsites had plenty of room. Lots of hiking nearby as well as the lake and the pool
Stayed here as a "layover" while on a longer road trip. Sites are pretty close together and the campground is close to a fairly busy road. The pool and laundry areas were clean and seemed newer.
Campsites were a little close and most are open so no privacy. Near battlefields and Gettysburg museum. Had a stand selling local produce when we stayed. The pool was closed for renovation when we stayed.
Camped for one night in a tent. Bear boxes for each site. Lodge and restaurant are nice if you aren't looking to "rough it". Dog friendly. Easy access along skyline drive and near to hiking spots.
Stayed here for a weekend checking out west Chester. Nice playground and jump pad for kids. Nice camp store. Only downside was walnuts loudly hitting our roof at night!
Small sites but some are along the creek. Playground and mini golf available. Close to battlefields
Very close campsites. Noisy neighbors. Laundry and pools were nice.
Stayed as a base camp for visiting the parks. Everything was perfect except the bus schedules were a little slow (long waits) and directions for which bus to get to which park was a little confusing even when using the Disney app.
Otherwise the campground was perfect. Clean bathrooms, enough space at each campsite, and sites were paved and level
Camped here 3 times. Campsites could be further apart and there's only one bathhouse and it's at the entrance.
Besides the above there is access to hiking trails that connect to the AT, plenty of organized activities for kids, fishing and mini golf. Most camper sites have electric and water hookups and some have septic. We will keep coming back for weekend getaways
Not much of a traditional campground but a great place stay and explore the town of mystic.
Super nice campground with plenty of space between sites. We had a site with water and electric hookups right along the water of Somes Sound. Our site had a deck, picnic table, and fire ring. Short drives to all the Acadia national park attractions and trails. Bathrooms were very clean. Check in and out was simple. Would definitely stay again.
