quiet place to stay the night

there’s nothing to do there and sometimes there’s hunters. every campsite is within living room view of the nearby home. reservoir is dried up. only a few sites to stay at

for those who aren’t picky

it’s loud day and night due to being by airport and landfill. road is trash after getting to the second cattle guard. lots of shooting ranges, nearly unlimited campsites, dogs barking and trash scattered but still it’s very relaxing being in the forest

nice campground

nice place. seems to be windy most of the days and rain can make the sites awfully muddy. ranger station is only open on weekend but maps are available 24/7. spots are a little close together.

nice spot

bit noisy from oil rigs. 5 regular sites and 2 group sites. only a couple of these can fit a rv or small camper. great view and skies. picnic table and fire pit at each site plus 2 vault toilets. roads are easily accessible to all vehicles

deep ruts, lots of snow

the forest road is clearly marked ahead of time but the road leading south is so rutted it is treacherous for anything low clearance. it also snows here quite a bit in the winter due to elevation. otherwise very beautiful and firewood is available. there are campsites EVERYWHERE

well rounded campsite

campsite with a great view, plenty of fallen wood, privacy, and big enough for a small group. good road to the site but washed out further down. safe for even small cars.

mountain on bonneville salt flats

north of the exit of the bonneville speedway gas station is public land on the mountains near the salt flats. many sites to choose and trails to ride. peaceful with a clear view of the stars, salt, and interstate.

windy but isolated

there’s a bunch of little sites that are perfect for camping but it gets very windy on/off through the day and bring firewood. beautiful view of milky way

cows

it’s a bit crowded. nice sites and road is decent until you get toward the burn bin. very rough after that. there are free range cattle walking around.

rocky trail, peaceful

like others have said, there’s a bit of trash. i’m on arizona trust land beyond the huge empty lot ($15 per year) and it really is peaceful except for the occasional trucks passing. don’t go too deep without a 4x4 and big tires and bring firewood
