Super busy.

Stayed for only 1 night in a tent camping spot. All spots were occupied, lots of kids running around and screaming. Showers were great and clean. They do have structures for weather which was nice to consider it started to rain. Also there’s construction going on next to the fence for tent camping… not fun

Worlds largest easel!

1 mile away is the worlds largest easel, across the street is a sunflower field when in season. Property was nice. Stayed 1 night in a tent, until the storm came in. Ended up sleeping in my car due to the extremely flat land of KS and a severe thunderstorm. Facility was clean, showers were not. Wasn’t busy at all.

Amazing

This is a surreal place. Stayed 2 nights. Tent camping spots were great everything was nicely maintained. Foot traffic was a bit heavy from noon-4pm. To stand amongst this beautiful trees it is very breathtaking. Hiking trails were great and maintained. The scouts trail was the busiest by far.

Beautiful

Beautiful park. Stayed one night well maintained. Pretty busy but I was here before school started so lots of families out. Be sure to stop by elephant rock.

It’s a state park

It is what it is. A state park. Tent spots were good, park clean shower house clean but the water was pretty mucky. Kid friendly play areas and plenty of picnic tables

Secluded

Stopped here for a night on my way through to St.Louis. Great spots with fire ring and lots of open space between places. The road is a bit rough when you get in pass the 3rd site. RV and Tent friendly. No water or electric but excellent phone service.

Amazing experience

Sites were nicely spaced and al had water. There were walking sites available also. Shower/ restroom lights were very dim so bring a headlamp or flashlight at night. Also be careful of wasps nest on the rock formations.

Quiet and over grown

I attempted the Mudlick trail all was great until I got to the 3rd hiking shelter everything was overgrown with poison ivy. I needed up setting up my hammock and just staying until morning since I got on the trail late. Which I wouldn’t recommend due to the high traffic of wildlife.

Busy but great.

Stayed on a Monday -Wednesday in a walk-in spot in loop 5. Every spot was occupied but park was maintained well and good time.
