The views are extraordinary, the staff are very helpful and work hard to maintain the beauty of the park and the bath houses and laundry facilities were extremely clean. If you do not stay here, you are totally missing out on some amazing views! Getting to the top has some steep roads so just go slow. Highly recommend this campground, we will be back.
Nice and quiet campground. They have security that rides through frequently. It is family friendly, has laundromat and a game room. Very clean campground, friendly staff, and has several spaces right on the creek. The spaces have large gravel which is better suited for rv’s and campers than a tent.
Camp Pedro at South Carolina's Mexican-themed South of the Border is a year-round campground, about one-tenth of a mile off I-95, has 100 RV sites -- no tents -- with full hookups, almost 50 pull-throughs for big rigs, showers and laundry facilities. This place is like a small town, with service stations, drug, grocery, gift and fireworks stores, five restaurants and an ice cream parlor. You don't have to camp here to enjoy the on-site recreation amenities that include two swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts, game rooms and a miniature golf course. Which makes this a passing through spot for me. I can’t relax here. But to each his own.
Dispersed camping with fire pits. Definitely more primitive and is used mostly by hunters. Very quiet if you want to get away from everything when not hunting season
We had the best time and found everything wonderful! Wonderful area with so much hiking to do. The bath houses were centrally located and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sites were great. We will be returning!
Ocean Lakes is HUGE and has everything you could possibly want. Plenty to do for kids and adults if you get tired of the beach lol. Lots of activities for kids, great store, food and ice cream on-site. You can’t go wrong with Ocean Lakes. We have friends that have permanent sites here and visit often.
We’ve primitive camped in the Linville Gorge Wilderness for many years and absolutely love it. It’s peaceful and secluded and the views are absolutely gorgeous. My photos are from the Linville Falls side of the old highway that goes past the falls parking lot. Spaces are first come, first served dispersed camping. Leave no trace! We clean up after folks every time we camp up here and it’s just too sad that people will leave their trash. This area used to be the best kept secret in the NC mountains but is quickly gaining popularity.
I absolutely love Ocracoke and Teeter’s is the only campground with power and hot showers. The owner is super nice and prices are reasonable. You can walk everywhere you need to go. Take bug spray! Ocracoke mosquitoes are on steroids. My pup loved golf cart rides around the village
This is a wonderful family campground with amazing people running the campground close to Boone and Banner Elk. There is a beautiful creek that runs through the property. Campsites are level. Bathhouse is adequate but they could use an additional restroom facility on the cabin/tent side of the creek. Only downside is the road noise from Hwy. 105 which can be extremely noisy.
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday in one of the camping cabins. We will definitely be back now that we have our A-frame camper. The campground is beautiful with a mountain stream flowing through the entire campground. Immaculate bathhouses and wonderful owners. Great store onsite and lots to do in the surrounding area.
Campground is permanently closed
