Stayed one overnight in a rooftop tent while passing through. Only a few other campers there on a Saturday evening. Pit toilet. Pay for electric hookup. For the most part it was peaceful, except for one truck that came through around midnight revving it’s engine and honking the horn. Startled me out of my sleep but otherwise, felt safe at this camping area. Added plus that it was a close drive to Badlands NP.
Nice quiet campground, close to many parks in Wisconsin Dells but far enough away from all the traffic and noise. Stayed one overnight driving through.
I stayed here May 10-12th with my two dogs. I chose a site right along the creek which was wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of rushing water. Many sites are quite spacious and offer a sandy area for tent set up. Most sites have a picnic table, fire pit, & metal bear box for food storage. Vault toilet available that were surprisingly clean. Camp host was friendly and had firewood on site available for purchase for $8/bundle. The website lists nightly rate as $21/night but when I arrived the sign had been updated to $23/night. This was the perfect basecamp for some day hikes up Big Pine Creek Trail to some beautiful blue lakes.
I stayed 1 night (5/7/21) in a roof top tent on my Jeep. I didn’t see anyone else at any of the other sites that I checked out & only had one vehicle drive by in the morning as I was packing up. Very quiet & peaceful, though it was quite windy throughout the night. Lots of burnt Joshua trees making the scenery nothing exciting to look at. I felt safe staying here as a solo female traveler (with my dogs). I stayed at the second large rock site and had enough service to make calls & text.
