Decent parking and fairly quiet there are semi's that park overnight across from Planet Fitness, you could park big rigs there.
Beautiful shaded spots, first come, no reservations. Self pay kiosk, not very many spots. You can park 1-2 vehicles or very small camper.
This is our family favorite camp park in Terre Haute! Has great hiking trails, a covered bridge with historical log cabins for festivals. They have 1 cabin you can rent out. Bring your fishing gear, they stock the lake. There's and boat ramp and bank access to kayak. They have some pull through for your big riggs and some sand beds for your tent camping
Lots of trees and wild life with hiking trails. Nice little pond to fish or watch the geese. Spacious camp site at a good price.
It was a great area to boondock camp, roads are rough but worth the trip. Cellphone service is spotty. Lots of ATV on the weekends. Be prepared to get stuck in the mud if it rains. There's a great lil gem you can hike to called Mudd Spings, it's super small natural spring.
We planned on staying at Guphea Gorge but it was first come gets a spot type of camping. So we found this was closer and $39 a night plus tax. Small RV park but easy to get in and out with big rigs and full hookups. So quite you could hear a cricket fart and the babbling creek running through the beautiful property. I was disappointed that they don't promote wearing masks and social distancing 😕😱 I would definitely stay again if Gulphea Gorge is full.
