Great lakeside spot

Lovely spot, zero bugs, spaced apart from others, plentiful clean bathrooms, and a boat launch. I will say that the red-necked grebes had a loud raucous party all night and while it was certainly festive, kinda hard to sleep. Thinking it was a mating ritual.

The quiet is refreshing

Midweek is good. Like 5 other campers there. I stayed in spot 12, awesome. There’s I think one bathroom. There are bear bins for your food if you don’t have the right kind of storage plus of course bear proof garbage and a pump water source. It’s fairly buggy and after a morning thunderstorm they were in full attack mode. I left sooner than I wanted because I couldn’t really drink my coffee in peace! Anti environmental OFF did work - I don’t have any bites! To all the “long dirt road” commenters - yeah, it’s long. I wouldn’t use this as a home base for day trips unless I had a boat. But the road itself is quite nice - wide and 85% smooth. I’ve encountered much worse in terms of potholes.

Not great for tent camping

Disclaimer, I went Memorial Day weekend. But it was RV hell. And I don't know about that "one unit per site" nonsense - almost every site near me had one or two RVs/campers plus a tent, or some combo like that. So many people, so loud, yelling and laughing and running generators. I'm glad they had a good time - I'm not a "get off my lawn" camper, but it was a little extra. The bathrooms are very clean and convenient! And if you camp in loops A, B, or C, you get your own slice of waterfront property on the other side of some nice shade trees. Side note, someone had poached my reservation so when I arrived, first stop was camp host to regulate. Which she promptly did so no biggie.
