Not Impressed

I would’ve given only one star but the view of the water is lovely. However the campground itself is less than thrilling. Next to no maintenance that I can tell. Our site (91) is very unlevel, the grass is 8 inches high, there are ruts and a sinkhole that you need to navigate carefully or twist an ankle. And although it thankfully remains empty - the site beside us is a ‘pull in’ meaning is we do get a neighbor, we will face each other and share literally less than 10’ in total. We will return to Acadia but not this campground

Excellent Family Campground

Well maintained, very clean campground. Lots and lots of activities for kids! Arts & Crafts, Arcade, Bingo, Casino Night etc.  Pool is very nice for families - with no deep end, really safe for younger kids.  Bathrooms are very clean but very far apart.  The only downside was the real lack of privacy at almost all the sites we saw.  it was more like staying in a summer cottage colony.  Most sites were not wooded and provided no buffer from one to the next.

Great setting

We had a brookside site #88 and being along the brook was beautiful, peaceful and reasonably private. Pros are definitely the setting!! Cons - a little petty with up charges $4 per night to park a second car and out on a main road quite far from our site. Bathrooms were ok, but not great - and showers were coin operated- .25 for six minutes- not a big deal but seems ridiculous to charge you a quarter and not have that covered by the nightly fee. Lastly, playground was pitiful. A bouncy house and an ancient jungle gym - no swings or slide. We would stay here again but have a more realistic view of the lack of amenities. It’s all about the view!
