We stayed for 2 nights and had a very quiet, comfortable stay. You can see the lake through the trees, and there's a trail down to the shore off the back of the site - looked like a great spot to launch a small canoe of you don't mind hauling it back up the hill afterward. We tent camp and the site is level and fairly easy to back a car into. I imagine more challenging for a camper though. We had enough space and trees to hang a couple hammocks for lounging too. The bathrooms and showers were directly across the way and relatively clean, though there was a dirty bandaid on the sink in the ladies (shame on whichever last left it instead of throwing it in the trash 2 feet away), and bar soap for hand washing (I ended up taking my own bottle of Dr Bronners with me when I used the loo). The showers are campground showers and as such are nothing to write home about, but they were clean enough and I like that they are set up as individual, lockable shower rooms, rather than one big shower room.
Had a pretty private site and most around us were empty. Great bird watching - saw a hummingbird within 20 minutes of arriving, orioles, a tanager and heard a wild turkey on the woods while we were there. Hiked the bluffs along the trail system at the south end of the park. Would gladly stay again.
We stayed at the Northern Lights campground for a Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday night, the campground was packed and one site was blasting music until midnight. Sunday night, many campsites were empty and it was a very peaceful night. Glad that people are having a great time and if that's your vibe, go for the weekend nights. I'm a quiet camper so will probably only come back for a midweek camp. Our site had electric which was clearly designed for an RV but too far from the only flat spot for a tent (partner has a CPAP to run). Great hiking, and it's not far to get to the trails from camp.
If you want to spend a lot of your time just relaxing at camp, this is a great spot. Our site was huge, flat and private - no trouble finding flat ground to pitch the tent. It rained a lot, unfortunately, but the host stopped by and made sure we knew how to find the shower house for shelter if the weather became dangerous. We had a couple hours when the rain paused long enough for a short hike. There is a small lake for fishing and paddling, and a restaurant in the park (ended up being vital since I forgot to pack coffee). Site had electric and was a short walk to privy and water.
