Beautiful Campground

I stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. It’s surrounded by tall Lodgepole pines that offer awesome shade and privacy from neighbors. Bathrooms were clean. Camp hosts were friendly. It sounds like there is a lot of bear activity so tent camping could be a concern. There were mostly RVs.

Cute campground

I didn’t actually camp here but drove through to check it out on a Wednesday afternoon. No sites were occupied.

The sites were pretty small and fairly close together but there are a lot of tall trees and vegetation that offer nice privacy. Several sites were right on the creek. I did see a water spigot too.

Fine for a night

The directions from this app didn’t exactly take me to the campsites. The campsites are along Lake Deweese Rd at the NE end of the reservoir. There are several sites all in very close proximity. There is virtually no privacy from neighbors but it worked from me for a night. It looked like some campers may be permanently occupying the sites.

Easy Access

This spot was easily accessible with high clearance. I arrived at 11am on Wednesday July 3 and only two sites were occupied.

Some of the sites were close together, basically one plot of land with multiple sites so privacy could be an issue. I stayed at site 16. The pull in makes it totally private from the road. It is shared with site 17 but the way each site would park still keeps it pretty private. There was an aspen grove perfect for hanging a hammock and shade to hang out during the day.

If you plan on hiking the trail at the end of the road there are A LOT of downed trees

Lots of sites but not very scenic

I stayed about 2.5 miles up the road. My site was small but it at least overlooked a hillside. A lot of the sites at the beginning of the road are huge but offer little to no shade and no view whatsoever. But there are a lot of sites so you could probably find something that works
