This is a nice campground a ways off of I-5. Its right on a lake, and is right between Mt St Helens and Mt Rainier. It’s also right between Portland and Seattle.

I had good cell service here. The bathrooms were nice enough with token showers. There’s lots of cabins too. The spots were semi private and spacious. I saw rangers driving around frequently, but there was no host when I was here. There was also a steady flow of people walking around enjoying the park. There’s not much around the area for supplies.

This was a cute family campground and I felt safe the entire time I stayed here.

A lush campground just outside of Portland. It’s an easy drive into the city from here, a little further to get to the Columbia River Gorge for some great hikes. Flush toilets and tons of free hot showers. The bathrooms were very nice. I got very good cell service.

There is an area for tents, closed during the off season, and an area with full hookups which has reservations year round. The full hookup sites were huge. The park also has an off leash dog area. I saw rangers driving around periodically, though the campground hosts always seemed to be off duty. I felt very safe here and enjoyed my stay.

This a great little spot outside of Port Angeles. It’s right on the river, and most spots have access to it. The spots seemed spacious. Not a ton of privacy between them. The cell service was spotty at best. There’s a vault toilet. Its also a quick drive to some rocky beaches to look for agates. Other reviewers mentioned someone coming around to check for a Discover Pass, but that didn’t happen while I was here. I’d say it was about half full during my stay in early March. I enjoyed my time here and felt very safe and secure, and it was a nice jumping off point for the national park.

I enjoyed my night here. Reservations are required year-round. It was fairly full when I stayed in mid-March. There is beach access, which is massive and beautiful, but no sites are beach front.

The bathrooms were fine, although the roof seemed like some sort of paper material so after a rainy night I got dripped on quite a bit. The showers were closed due to Covid.

The sites are very private. It seemed like a nice little family spot.

I was able to walk up and get a spot in mid-March. There are two areas- one by the lake, which has good enough cell service and is for tents, and another by the beach which has no cell service at all but full hookups. I stayed in the lake area and was the only person there that night.

The bathrooms in the lake area are okay- flush toilets and a free hot a shower. The shower is a push button though, which I found annoying since that made the temperature fluctuate a lot. By the beach area the bathrooms seemed much nicer.

The sites are beautiful and grassy, right on the lake. Basically no privacy between sites though. There are tons of great hikes in the area and the beaches are gorgeous and huge. I loved my stay here and would gladly come back.

The campground was basically completely empty when I stayed as a walk-up in early March. Good cell service, coin operated showers. The bathrooms were clean enough, just of lower quality- weathered cement floors and metal plates instead of mirrors. Some sites are right on the water. Not a ton of privacy between sites. I often saw people on walks through the park, it’s very close to a small town. I felt safe here and enjoyed my stay.

This is just a forest road off of the highway. It’s very easy to miss the turn- and then it takes 20 minutes to get back to the turn. The road was icy and difficult to drive on in mid-March.

The spots are a little hard to find when its snowy. If you stay closer to the front, there’s less snow. Just look for established fire rings to find a spot. The only sign I saw that indicated you are allowed to camp here was one about putting out your fire. There’s okay cell service. Pack out your waste.

There were very rarely any cars driving on the road and only one other group stayed here the night I did. Overall, I felt mostly safe but a little weary. This is fine for a one night stop on a longer trip.

Great spot off the Pacific Coast Highway. The sites are very private, there’s a vault toilet, and good cell service. It’s $24 a night, first come first serve in early-mid March, and only half the campground is open at that time.

I had only planned to stay here for one day, but along the next hour and a half of my route this was the only campground that wasn’t still closed for the winter (even though they were labelled as open online.) I ended up turning around and driving back. The campground host was very nice and made me feel safe and comfortable when I arrived after dark feeling frustrated and exhausted.

The area is great. Florence is a nice town with anything you might need. It’s also right on the ocean with easy access to the beach and sand dunes.

I stayed here for two nights while I explored the surrounding national park and beaches. Easy drive to so many great spots. Roomy sites but not much privacy depending on the site. I had good cell service. I’d say about half to a quarter of sites were empty both nights during my stay in early March- it’s first come first serve. No one ever came to check my Discover Pass. There’s one vault toilet. It’s right on the river, but only a few sites are directly on the bank. There were usually a few trucks parked by the bank for fishing during the day. Overall, I felt safe and comfortable here surrounded by the gorgeous mossy rainforest.

Spacious campsites with tons of privacy tucked back from the road. In the off season only the front section of the campground is open, but thats not a problem since maybe 5 other sites were occupied. Everything was very well maintained and I frequently saw the camp host driving around and stopping to clean up various sites. $20 a night for all sites during the off-season. Cell service was usually one to two bars.

The bathrooms were clean with flushable toilets and were stocked with soap and TP. I didn’t check out the showers.

The best part about this campground is the beach. Its a short walk down from the campground. It has beautiful views of mountains across the water on a clear day. There’s lots of picnic tables in the area. The beach itself is covered in rocks and oyster shells. When I was there it was almost always totally empty besides myself. Nothing better than a beautiful view all to yourself!
