Wonderful time

It was beautiful on the island, we rode the bike causeway and took the bike ferry. Our site was large and sunny but most sites that we saw are in the shade. Waterfront sites mostly have lean-to or cabin so we were not able to get a site for our pop up on the water. Gravel roads make for some noise but it wasn’t bad at all. Kayaking is wonderful and there was a boat launch right near our site.

My favorite

It’s been years since I’ve stayed at Rollins pond, mostly because of the long drive. (I live 5 hours away) but this year we decided we needed to revisit. We had a waterfront site and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to sit on the beach and watch the sunset, kayak at our leisure, and swim. Water spigots in very close proximity and all bathrooms clean and accessible. Free HOT showers, and all of the neighbors are so quiet it was like being alone when sitting by the fire.

Wonderful campground

We decided to go the week before Memorial Day. It turned out to be a Canadian holiday weekend so we saw lots of Ontario plates. But by Monday everyone cleared out and we were one of 3 people in our loop (c63) the bathrooms were immaculate (our only complaint was the mens room had no hot water for showers) We kayaked from the ADA kayak launch and had a nice time on Eel bay. We rode our bicycles around and even did rollerblading. So many nice waterfront sites and if you stay in the c loop you have shade, a flat driveway to park on, and electric hookups. All of the other loops that had electric were pretty much wide open with no trees or privacy.
