Beautiful campground

We had such a great time at Barton Flats! The campground is beautiful, we’ll-maintained and clean. So much greenery and lots of big pines trees. Hosts Bob and Stephanie were super awesome! So friendly and helpful! We couldn’t have asked for a better trip.

Chill camping spot

Had a great time at Leo Carrillo. It’s such a chill campground. Having the beach right next door is awesome. The tide pools are great, but there’s some really beautiful spots on north beach.

Probably won’t go here again

The campground was ok and the host was super awesome! However, we had to drive around and around to try to find a spot that wasn’t totally in the sun. We ended up having to go across the street to Hungry Gulch to find a spot that had some shade. Also, the buildings that had the “flush toilets” were all locked up and they only had outhouses. On the first day, they were clean and ok, but by the 2nd day and the campground filled up, so did the outhouses and were gross! I only saw them emptied once in the three days we were there. Yuck! Then, it was super windy! Our tent, despite being overly staked down, had been blown over numerous times. Not just during the day, but also in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. There were also bees everywhere. No one got stung, but a little annoying when you’re cooking and eating. The lake was super low and full of algae and was slimy, so we had to drive a little ways and do a little off roading to get to the Kern river to have some fun in the water.

Great and fun camping spot

While it was ridiculously hot, the swimming area was a great place to cool off. Clean campground with great, friendly staff. We’ll be back I’m sure!

Lake Hemet is awesome

We had such a great time at Lake Hemet Campground! The staff are so helpful and friendly and really wanted to make sure we had the best time. The views are just amazing and the lake is beautiful!

A beautiful getaway

We had such a great time at Cold Springs Campground! The drive to get there is a little intense (24 miles of steep windy roads that is mostly only one lane so you have to beware of oncoming traffic), but so worth it. You’re surrounded by forest, have a beautiful river running through the area and it’s just peaceful! Loved every minute of it.
