Eh

This campground is tucked away in a neighborhood and the grounds weren’t terrific. The staff was friendly and our cabin was clean and spacious. we met friends here and had a nice time. Not much to do in or near Wytheville. We stayed in March 2017.

Nice cabins

Stayed here for Spring Break in 2015 and then agaIn In 2016. The entire campground was nice and well cared for. We stayed in one of the cabins. The location isn’t great, but it was a 45 minute drive to some great hiking locations to include McAfee Knob.

great with kids

This campground is nice and the primitive spots are right next to the river. The spots are a short walk from the parking area and the campground provides wagons to transport your stuff. great fishing and swimming right at your camping spot.

Great backpacking

There are so many trails to hike throughout the park and with a backcountry permit, you can find countless campsites. I stayed in the area of overall run falls. Make sure to hang your food. There are plenty of black bears in the area.

Crowded, but a great campground

This is a terrific campground in the middle of Shenandoah National Park. Great hikes close to the area and Big Meadows is terrific for stargazing.

Family friendly

My kids and I had a terrific time in this campground. We camped with a tent. Facilities were clean and well cared for. There was a black bear hanging around the campground the weekend we camped. There is a pretty creek running through the campground. Would recommend this to anyone with aspirations to hike in the area.
