Nice pool that is shallow so you can relax and let the little ones go in the water park section alone or they have a 3 ft pool also. My older kids preferred a deeper pool but they still had a great time there they have lasertag which they enjoy. And a bounce pillow
This park had a nice pool and used to be a KOA now it is privately owned but I believe it is still just as nice. They have live music and it’s gated so only campers and visitors can get into the gates which is nice security wise.
We didn’t enjoy this campground as much. No cell service no internet and it rained the entire time. The one day it didn’t rain we went to the lake. It the water was tinted yellow/green. It may have been the rain but there also wasn’t many activities for the kids that I saw either
they have a wonderful pool and are a short distance from chincoteague beach! Great place to stay with family! Sites are big we fit two large tents on one site. They have a water park down the road and fishing off the pier. Don’t forget to stop at Island Creamery for the best ice cream ever!
The site was a decent size but we had to park across the street instead of on our site. I prefer my car on my site and during busy season parking is limited and it can be a walk. Some sites are bike in as well. It was enjoyable but there was not much for the kids to do they couldn’t ride bikes because the main strip was too busy. We went to the beach also but that’s another long walk from car to lake. I don’t mind walking but with all the beach stuff and all the tent stuff I prefer sites with parking close by. Had to drive to the beach because it was so far
This is basic dry camping it is fun but there is no electric or water at the sites o LU in the bathhouse. So if you get a site close the the bathhouse you will have water close by and electricity close. Otherwise it’s dry camping.. the platform sites are great it makes it real easy to set up a tent because of the platform that the tent goes on and the lake is ok. The kids don’t like swimming with fish so we didn’t spend much time at the lake
I love this campground they have counselors who lead activities with kids in the summer and two pools plus a rock climbing tower, manifold, basketball and a bounce pillow and more… they have rental boats for a lake and fishing at the lake too. If is a great place to bring kids and you are never board! Even when it rains they have activities in the tent outside!
I love camping at Assateague Campground (Oceanside). The mosquitoes are very bad but it is the most relaxing thing to fall asleep listening to the ocean….make sure your tent spikes and tent are strong enough for storms because it can get very windy… if it’s hurricane season they will ask everyone to leave during a bad storm but that’s never happened to me… the campsite beaches do not have lifeguards but it’s a short walk to the lifeguard beach if you want it. The horses will destroy your tent if you leave food or sweet drinks in it… they have a great sense of smell and will knock down coolers and entire tents if they think there’s food. Leave all food secure in a vehicle if you aren’t at your site. They have little pricker things in the grassy areas that stick to everything! But none of this could make me say it’s bad I absolutely love the Oceanside of Assateague campgrounds! If you need to get horses to leave you can splash them with bottled water or shake a tin with change in it but stay away they can be aggressive..
