We used the GPS listed here and actually went about 40 yards past and turned left. There were some great spots along the brush that had trails directly to the water. This spot was awesome for kids! Labor Day weekend and as we drove around we could see plenty of spots left in the surrounding area. We didn’t see a single fish in this river BUT there was an awesome little swimming hole, maybe 5 feet deep with a little make shift diving board already in place.

love phantom canyon road. there are lots of options within the first 16 miles or so. don’t get impatient, the further down the road you go the better the spots (and further from road traffIc) my pictures are from a site after the second tunnel. all shade, you walk over a little creek to set up tent!
