Such a cute campground! We spent the weekend celebrating a birthday. Wanted to find a campground that had it all close to the campground and we lucked out! This place is small but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The tents sites were all very close together but we made it work. They had a fishing pond, lake to swim in with fun inflatable slides and trampoline and a pool. We made use of all them during our stay. The lake was super fun and such a cool idea to have the slides and trampolines. The pool was a decent size and warm. They had karaoke going on one night which was fun with watch all the local campers dining they’re hearts out. We were able to drive the parkway and get some amazing views definitely worth going out and driving it at least once. The campground also accommodated hikers coming off the Appalachian trail giving them a place to stay and shower. The owners also had a cute little store for all the things you might have forgotten ( that would be me 😂) and made homemade biscuits which were amazing, but you have to be up early to snag one but so worth it. All in all we had a great time !
Tail end of our vacation came with a camping trip! We went to riverside and the weather was perfect! The bands were great both nights. We all took the kayaks out on the Susquehanna River that runs behind the property for a sunny paddle. Came back and went to a wine fest, in the park that is right next to the campground, bought some root beer moonshine (which is AMAZING) then ended the night with hamburgers music and a friendly (competitive) game of corn hole. Riverside is such a great place for a short weekend away.
We unfortunately got stuck in infamous Northeast PA weather but we made the best of it. There were thunderstorms and campsite was a little flooded but we were still able to camp. This place is a cute little campground that allows dogs and has a bar right on the property. We enjoyed beers and live music and the next day turned out decent and we were able to enjoy the riverside camping ⛺️
Spent one night here at the State Park. My boyfriend and I traveled from northeast PA, about three hours away, and arrived earlier to the park than the check-in time (3pm). However the ranger was able to check us in as no one had used our site the night before. The ranger was polite and gave us maps of the campground as well as hiking/biking trails, of which there are a few. The park itself is sectioned into loops, we stayed at a loop close to the river, the sites on the river were booked but we were still able to get past the sites and get a view of the river. We hiked/biked to turkey point lighthouse, which is not actually accessible from the campground. Just a short drive past a community is the trail which was fun to bike but still well maintained. Overall would definitely stay again it was peaceful and quiet.
