We stayed at cart-in site 49 and it was awesome! Very private and not a huge walk from the car yet far enough!

Large open field next to some woods with some fire pits and one “site” has a picnic table and a small covering. It’s good for what it is, free camping! We’ve gone a few times, it’s first come first serve, no reservations. Not really much hiking but an okay spot if you’re just looking for a place to pitch a tent and have a fire.

Found this site by luck just searching on the Minnesota DNR site! Lots of RV sites but there are 4 walk in sites down a small trail, very private and away from everyone else. We chose site 4 and we definitely made the right decision!! Great hiking with beautiful sights. We will definitely be back and are already planning our next visit!

Took a chance booking online on 4th of July weekend at a place we’d never even heard of and boy was it a great decision! We strongly value our privacy so we chose a cart in site all the way in the back (second to last as 48 was booked) even with campers on either side of us, we had plenty of coverage from the wooded area between the sites!! Great hiking for beginners and experts alike with some gorgeous views! We will definitely be coming back!
