We hiked extensively in this tract and used Mutual Mine campground as one of our stop-overs. Very nice, open, flat areas to pitch tents and close to hiking trails. Fire ring at each site, options to hang your hammock. Bathrooms but no showers. Free potable water. You can also pull in a trailer but this is not a full-commercial type campground. More a cross between that and primitive camping…….perfect for backpackers!!
If you blink you'll miss the entrance to this hide-away in the woods, but that's perhaps it's secret ingredient :) We arrived too early (about an hour before our scheduled checkin time) but the owners allowed us to choose our site and set up our tents since a rainstorm was approaching. After setup (and an hour of rain) we toured the property. You'll have full access to: kitchen (with stove/range, coffee maker, pots & pans…..), shower, bathroom, and the common area complete with a band stage and COVERED fire ring. An awesome place to hang out and chill.
Spent one night here in March of 2019. Easy drive down a hard packed gravel road. Lots of shaded options to pitch a tent, facilities (showers) were clean and plenty (3-4 shower stalls). Our site had a fire ring with grate (not something you find everywhere), trees to hang a hammok, and flat spaces for tents. A very quiet spot with access to lots of hiking trails plus Silver Lake to go fishing. What more do you need?
