Camped out here for a night. Very easy road to drive on and there are plenty of options to pitch a tent! Surprisingly not crowded at all. I would go back!
Very easy road to use even with my sports car. It’s slightly narrow but has plenty of room to pull over. There’s a bunch of spots to pull over and camp in. It was surprisingly incredibly quiet even for a Saturday night. I would camp here again.
The camping out here is exceptional! Fairly easy dirt road that goes for miles. I stopped about 5 miles out from 89. I’m also in a low Camaro and the sun was setting. Highly recommend this area for incredible scenery and unlimited stars!
I was hoping to camp here but the campground was closed as of 9/19.
I had a great night camping at McHood Campground along Clear Creek. It was very peaceful and quiet on a Friday night. Only 4-5 other groups were camping. I woke up the next morning and went for a run around the reservoir before kayaking the 6.5 mile round trip out & back along Clear Creek. Bathrooms were decent and the camping area was very clean. $15 to camp but it was well worth it. I would go back.
