This was a really great surprise for us. The staff on site are super nice and very helpful with any question you have. It's a family operation which seems to be a good fit for them. Even though the campground is small it offers a lot. There is fishing, a pool, splash pad, playground, arcade, store, and multiple wifi hotspots. They even offer breakfast each morning for about 5 bucks. Only knock I have is it is right off the highway which can be loud. Some of the sites are pretty small but doable. Views can be had of the surrounding mountains and is a great location with only short drives to popular tourist locations.
Nice place, relatively quiet. Little light pollution. Sites are very spacious. Close and clean facilities. Saw a good bit of wildlife: deer and wild boar. Hiking and biking trials. I regular tent sites (which are also hammock friendly). Also have cabins for rent. Prices are on the lower end, $17 a night for tent sites. Only reason for the 4 start is the reservation system has to be done through the county park and rec sites.
Been here a few times for Hangcon and it is a wonderful place. Facilities are very clean and convenient. Would be a wonderful place to host an event. Perfect place for about 300 hammock campers in January. Doe Lake is beautiful and a perfect place to kayak.
Kinda hard to find. Sites (we stayed in the tent site) are pricey for what they are… Small, less than stellar. They also charge by the person over 2 people. Main bath house was far away and the only other facility option was some porta potties… Yea no. Also the sites are close together and very LOUD. Little enforcement of noise policy. They will also charge you extra for parking down by the dock, even with a site. I only would stay here again if I wanted to be on the water as it does offer a nice docking area and there is no other camping option in the area.
Even with the entire campground full, quiet night, friendly camp host, clean site and facilities. Plenty of options for all types of campers even hammockers.
Sites and facilities are nice and clean. The host were very nice and helpful. Has equestrian area and post at each hotel site. Most sites are well shaded. A good number of sites looked hammock friendly, but be sure you have the 2 inch straps. Easy access to hiking and riding trials. Short drive into both Belview and Ocala.
Campground is quiet and sites are HUGE. We were able to find a very nice hammock friendly site near the water. Easy access to all the ONF has to offer. You can swim in the lake or fish if you have a boat or kayak. Staff were very accommodating and friendly people. Facilities were in nice shape for a campground of this type. Also, if you stay here you can still day use near by springs for free, like Alexander or Juniper.
Sites and facilities are nice and clean. Sites were decent size. Good for RVs and tents. However, sites are not shaded at all and because of the quarry and stagnant water the mosquitoes were RIDICULOUS! Probably worst mosquitoes in 30 years of camping.
First off this is a huge glampground, not much camping here. Very well maintained for the most part. Bath houses are super clean. Plenty of access to transportation through Disney. The reason for the 3 star review is price. Yea, I know it's Disney but it's also a campground. On top of the overwhelming cost of everything within the park, it's just a little over the top for me and my style of camping. It's also very crowded with golf carts going non stop.
Small campground with clean sites and facilities. Has both hiking (me sure you have a map, because trail is poorly marked) and equestrian trails.
Nice play, quiet and clean. Not much to do at the campground, but not a far drive from all kinds of water activities and the town of Crystal River.
