Loved it!

Loved everything about this place, and would definitely come back and visit. Here are some things we really enjoyed:

  1. Campground was easy to locate- I hate when we are traveling from out of town and trying to find a spot and there are no signs. This place was well marked, and actually the GPS took us right here.
  2. Nice rangers- they helped us find our spot and also told us some great things to do nearby! There is a lake close by and they told us how to get there. Also told us some great hiking spots, which is why we came in the first place.
  3. Clean- The bathrooms and campground were clean. There was actually TP in the bathroom too!! Shocker!! Dumpsters on site as well.
  4. Great hiking!!! Look up hikes and GOOOOO!!!
  5. Campsites are "bigger" which was really like because we didn't feel squished.
Great hiking!

I love Washington because of all its amazing hiking! The campground was mediocre, not really the cleanest, but the hiking made up for it! We did tons of hiking around the area, and enjoyed every single one. The campground itself is pretty small- pretty sure there are only like 12 sites within the campground. When we went, it wasn't too busy. Probably 5 other families there. There is a garbage disposal area there which was nice, although it still seemed a bit dirty. It was $18 a night which we thought was a little on the expensive side for camping, but we only stayed 2 nights and split the cost between 4 people. Great views of Pend Oreille River. We reserved our site online, but I think we definitely could I walked in and got a site. This campground doesn't seem to be used much. Probably wouldn't come back, but maybe try another campground nearby.

Beautiful!!

Montana is such a beautiful place to visit. We come every summer but try and hit a new spot in Montana every time. We like experiencing new places, new hikes and new campgrounds! This place was great, definitely met all our needs!! The campground was super clean! We didn’t spot any garbage anywhere when we came! We saw some other reviews that said it was a little dirty, but we didn’t think so! The campsites were decently big, fit our RV perfectly! We stayed 3 nights and loved it. We hiked in the morning nearby, and all were amazing! The hiking in Montana never disappoints. The views are spectacular. We also saw so many deer coming in and out of the campground which we love! This seems to always happen when we stay in Montana :). Lots of chipmunks, birds and deer! We love it. There was a really yummy burger joint down the road that we stopped by on the way to the campground and on our way home! Super good burgers, fries and milkshakes!! The campground has many trees which was great for hanging our hammocks. We hiked in the morning and hung out in the campground in the evening reading in our hammocks. It was pretty relaxing!!

Great hiking!

The campground was great, but we only stayed 1 night because our main reason was to hike Saturday morning. We got an early morning start on Saturday to beat the hiking traffic. We really only slept at the campground and were there less than 10hrs total. The campground looked nice, and clean! The spots were a decent size, fit our car and tent. Table and fire ring within the campsite which was great! We used the table to hold our packs and food! Bathroom seemed to be pretty clean and had TP. Obviously because it’s a porta potty it didn’t smell the best. Campground was easy to find in the evening and within good distance to some awesome hikes. The weather held up for us and was sunny and blue skies. We thought it might rain but didn’t. We would definitely come back, but hopefully next time we will make a long weekend out of it.

Perfect fall spot!

The colors here in the fall are incredible! Hands down my fave! This campground was great! There is a little mini golf course, which was closed when we went but I’m sure it’s a blast in the summer! The people here were super friendly and helpful! There are restrooms and showers!! Showers are always nice. However, we didn’t stay long enough to need a shower. We just stayed Friday night and then hiked Lake Ingalls Saturday morning. They also have trash bags for sale which I thought was nice. Amazing ice cream shop close by! We came after our hike on Saturday! There are RV spots as well as tent spots. Showers and bathrooms within walking distance. Highly recommend staying here and doing Lake Ingalls. It’s a 9 mile round trip hike, that is beautiful! We wanted to see the larches so we came early fall. We also saw mountain goats which was one of our goals!! No dogs allowed on trail.

Great place!

Montana is definitely one of my all time favorite places to visit. Being from Washington, there is so many hikes there, and Montana definitely reminds me a little of Washington- except the mountains are EVERYWHERE!! The hiking here is amazing, and Montana Gulch Campground is the best. The campground was really clean, and actually the bathrooms were clean as well and stocked with toilet paper when we were there. Which is shocking because most campgrounds have nasty bathrooms. The campsite spaces were fairly big, with enough room to pitch 2 tents and have our car in front too. There is a table and fire pit within your campsite. There is also some areas under cover with extra tables. The campground is easy to find, and the road was pretty good. I've been to a few places where the road leading to the campground is crappy. The hiking around here was amazing, recommend!! The staff was super friendly and helped us pick out a few hikes. The views were incredible. Wish I would have taken more pictures, but that just means we have to come back!

LOVED!

Really loved staying here. The best time of year to come is the summer because the weather is warm and the hiking is amazing!! Very close to Rainier National Park. They have raised the price to get in to National Parks from $25 to $30. We have an America Beautiful pass which I highly recommend because it pays off quickly. We were actually able to use that pass for the campground so it only costed $5 a night. Steal of a deal. The campground is pretty basic- campsites had table and fire ring, and the spaces were normal size. Clean, but only has 1 bathroom that we were able to find. We hiked every day in the National Park. We did Fremont, skyscraper and the bourroughs. Highly recommend! The weather was perfect when we went and Rainier was beaming. Definitely recommend going early if you’re hiking because the crowds are crazy! The parking lot was full every day after we finished hiking. Beautiful place to visit!

Great spot, amazing hiking!

Really loved my stay here. One reason we wanted to stay here was to be close to lots of beautiful hiking near Mt. Rainier. One of the days we went to Sunrise Visitor Center and did a few hikes within the park. It was a blue sky day and Mt. Rainier was shinning! The campground is great. Lots of parking and the campsites are big and clean. 2 pit toilets, but bring your own toilet paper, especially in the summer when it’s super busy. Walk in campground, so get there early to reserve your spot. There is a parking lot where you leave your car, then find your campsite. That was a little odd to me, but it worked out. We also hiked Spray Fall which was gorgeous. Mowich Lake is close by and the water is so clear and beautiful! Definitely nice to have the lake close by to jump in on a hot day! To get to campground you do have to drive on a dirt road for about 10miles. We have a truck so we didn’t have any issues. No cell service which we figured. Either need a discovery Pass or pay $5 for the day. Loved it here!
