This campground is located about 80 miles from what people traditionally think of when they think of Denali National Park (i.e. Cruise ship hotels, restaurants, buses into the park, etc). So if you are wanting/needing to be close to that, then don't stay here. Also if you like solitude don't stay here as it is quite busy. That being said it is a beautiful campground with some epic views of Denali, Foraker and Hunter when the mountain is out. If your socked in, it is still nice views but just not the same epicness. Everything seemed to be well maintained and got relatively quiet at night when I stayed there.
Great and unique campground with glacier views. Tents only and campground is clean and well maintained. Can be busy, but generally not to bad. Nice little hike out to the glacier or longer hikes up to the ice field if you want. Be bear aware, especially with food as there is lots of wildlife in the area. Close enough to Seward, but a ways down the road so a vehicle is recommended as the campground is a ways from town. Easy enough for a day trip into Seward tho for water activities, beach, brewery, etc.
This campsite is right on the beach on the Homer Spit. Can't beat the views but it's crowded and a lot of people walking around. Very touristy. In the summer food is easy to find if you want to eat and it's by the famous Salty Dawg, out but I'd be cautious about leaving your tent with volume of people there. Beach is awesome and campfires on the beach are even better. Can get windy which can make it fairly miserable in a tent but overall really cool place to camp at least once to say you did.
Great campground that conveniently located from Anchorage, tho the road up to the campground takes a while. Usually very crowded on the weekend with biking, hiking camping. Kayaks available for rent, but careful the water is dangerously cold. Ice cream stand nearby in the summer. Awesome scenery and great trails. Careful-potential for lots of bears.
