If you come during the week, you're going to enjoy quiet, gorgeous dispersed camping. Big spaces, big trees, big lake.
But if you come during the weekend, be prepared for the most inconsiderate, noisy, rude neighbors you've ever found. They leave trash everywhere, play music and shoot guns late into the night, and don't respect boundaries whatsoever. I had multiple people drive right into my campsite and park 10 feet from my rig, walk through camp yelling and playing music, you name it.
So, four stars because the place is amazing - but choose your timing wisely.
Big rigs have a great space at the bottom of the hill… but if you're in a truck, van, etc., head on up the hill. The road is in great shape. There are some pullouts, but look for a road on the right (veer left at the private drive; you'll see a sign) and you'll find a great site with a fire ring and somewhat level ground. Chances are it'll be COVERED in cow poop, but hey. It's quiet, aside from the mooing of cows, and totally private. There's probably more up the road, too, I just didn't go further. Solitude.
Google Maps led me in on a road with a locked gate from the south, and a really rough road in from BV, so I wouldn't trust it. But if you take Highway 285 to FR 305 as your way in to FR 376, it's a cake walk. Lots of spots, many with beautiful views. It's a very popular area for OHV/ATV riders, which is tough for me because I hate the noise, but I will say that a) you typically get between 7pm and 10am with no traffic at all, and b) that 90% of the OHV riders along this road were the most respectful I've seen anywhere, slowing down as they passed my camp. That's rare. Hats off to you all.
I would definitely return here. The evening/morning silence and views are top notch.
This is now part of the UtahRaptor park, so it’s $15/night. I didn’t stay here, but I wouldn’t pay 15 bucks a night for such a desolate looking spot. There are better ones in the area.
Really nice RV park in a beautiful setting. Family run, very friendly people. Seemed like most of my neighbors had been there before at least a few times. Clean showers… what more do you need?
It's basically a rocky road up the side of Mt. Blanco with lots of places to pull off and camp. Suitable for anything from the most rock-fearing to rock-ready. AT&T had a solid two+ bars. The sunset and lightning storms in the distance were breathtaking. Definitely a great choice for a night's boondocking if that's what you need.
