Spent 4th of July weekend at China Meadows. It’s a pretty great spot. We didn’t have reservations and it wasn’t crowded at all. There were a lot of bugs, but that’s expected when camping next to the water. Standard pit toilets.

I’ve camped here twice and I really enjoy it. The first time was in a tent and I rented a travel trailer for the second trip. The road is well maintained (its rough but I saw a Prius on it). No facilities, but I like that. It’s got some altitude, so it can be a little cold. Both times were in April. Last April the road has some decent snow covering it just last the bridge, but this year I was able to drive from Boulder to Escalante no problemo.
