Beautiful place with a horrible past. Lots of sites and boat launches. Sad history of the place.
Fire ring. Pit toilet. Near the River. Calming sound from the river
If chilling and canoeing is what you want with little to no other human contact the lower Wisconsin river is the place. Eagles everywhere. Great fishing.
On the water. Lots of deer and turkeys. Heard wolves at night. It was great!
Right on Lake Superior. Lots of agates to be found on the beach.
Nice views of the Iowa and Wisconsin Mississippi River bluffs. Lots of noise from the railroad that has a train every 30 min.
Moose were everywhere and so were huge bluegills. Not another soul in sight
Nicely nestled in the kettle moraine but busy in the summer. Bring bug spray
Free campsites within walking distance to upper and lower falls.
Go there yearly during the fall for the colors. The Kickapoo valley is amazing
Very busy campground in the summer. The mosquitos were horrendous. Try early in the season for best experience.
Not far out of town but nested in the mountains along the highways. Nice elk tracks in the snow when I was there along the river.
Found this place by chance. Amazing location across from Lake Superior. The best sunsets I’ve seen west of the pacific.
More of a yard style, open camping. No privacy. Lots of kids everywhere. No alcohol allowed. Packed during the day at the beach. Ok trails.
