A few sites at a boat launch area.
One large site before the main turnaround point and a couple by the water.
Not a ton of space.
4x4 or awd may come in handy leaving the sites (going back up the gravel hill)
Campsites are up a poorly maintained dirt track from the parking area. A couple water crossings before the sites, the first one being the worst. Everything here accessible to a good 2WD with decent clearance. Only saw 3 vehicle sites and a couple tent sites before the third water crossing, which is as far as I looked.
Roads to campsite are well maintained gravel, fire rings, and good views. Was in a roof top tent but had no problem with wind noise, good cell service.
Unimproved dirt ring road with designated campsites. Good 2WD should be fine. Take the first left after the group campsite, and another left when you reach full dirt road. Ample sites, some not the most ideal for RV/Van.
Arrived in the general area, but the few decent spots were taken by RVs. There was open space but exposed, found a more private location off a side trail. Trails leading to location were very tame, but offshoot trails definitely require high clearance.
Just a dirt road with ample pullouts for camping/RVs. 2wd/low clearance is no problem on the dirt road. It's a right turn after the first cattle guard, previous reviewers were saying they had trouble finding the spot, I'd recommend Gaia gps or something similar.
Stopped here for the night on the way to Wind Cave, ended up staying to rock climb for two weeks. Primo rock climbing within minutes of the campsite, and some of the coolest people I've met anywhere. Spots for van boondocking and a ton of great tent sites.
Great place to spend the night, right outside the north entrance to to badlands national park. Ton of Ridgeline spots for RV/van camping, not so many even spots. It was too windy for my RTT on the ridge, ended up spending the night in the basin.
Campsite is situated at the Cave Creek trailhead, a cool hike to some local caves. It's 5 bucks for the night, 2 dollars day use, all backpacking tent sites. Some shelters. Gorgeous views, camp guide says its booked fill every weekend. Good luck
Decent number of sites with fire rings on Long hollow road in the ATV use area. My site was great great for the roof top tent, fenced in mini spur with fire ring. Downsides were the family group camped nearby riding ATVs and playing music into the night, and a rifle range to the west. Shooting went on into the night. Also spent about 10 minutes picking up trash in the campsite area. Overall, close to the pike national forest entrance, decent spots if you don't mind the drawbacks.
The road is closed to 6 mile canyon and the dispersed camping there; I stayed outside the fence for the night and had no issues. You can hear the highway but its not a huge issue.
Dispersed camping along the bluff spring stream. A ton of campsites, and easy access to bluff spring and a trail complex. High clearance vehicle recommended, pretty packed in the summer months.
One of the best campsites I've stayed at. Just a firepit and the landscape. Very quiet at night out of the wind. The dirt road should be accessible to most vehicles.
Short distance from Capital Reef NP, but this specific area was very crowded when I was here. It was also very windy at night, which might be an issue if you're running a roof top tent.
Took the FR117, ran into a ton of rv setups. Pushing further back on the dirt roads yield many more less crowded options. Was able to set up right on the edge of a ravine in an improved campsite.
