Plenty of water access!

The lake is just down the road from our campsite and there is a trailhead bathroom right at the boat ramp!

The campsite itself is pretty enclosed, but there is no fire pit or electrical access. It’s pretty simple and honestly it’s a really good set up! The campsite was small and perfect for just a night in the woods! Highly recommend for a couple days, especially if you’re looking to live near the water!

Wonderful experience!

This site is completely RV/mobile camping! It’s easy to access and well taken care of in means of landscaping, our site was also right next to the front and the store!

Our site included a picnic table, water access, electrical outlets and a fire pit. The lake is nearby and there is an access near the entrance of the campgrounds.

The grounds are well taken care of as I had previously said and honestly very inviting, the people are very nice and have an entire area for kids!

I’d recommend Tanglewood!

Very well taken care of!

*Heading back to campsite C had me a little confused because you drive through an area that looks more like permanent homes but once we found it, it was great!

Pirates Cove is a very nice RV park! The grounds had so many things for the family to do including a Basketball court, a very clean pool, a full mini golf area, store, and a boat launching area! you get the mini golf equipment from the store!

There is NO tent campgrounds but ONLY RVs but each site has a picnic table, water hookup, a fire pit and electrical outlets! Honestly everything you’d need for a good experience! We stayed in our car but had an overall great experience!

First to Review
I’m kind of on the rocks about this site

Honestly coming in, we were a little suspicious because it doesn’t seem like a RV park and since we didn’t have anything to reference we kept going.

We found an empty site just across from the playground but we camped in the car. There is water hookup, a fire pit, and electrical outlets, and picnic tables at each of the sites. The grounds are well taken care of but there’s a lot, A LOT of permanent RV campers.

The playground is open to campers!

Great place to go during hunting season and some rifle shows!

Im not a huge fan of not having water access at the site but overall I recommend!

Open spacious plots with electrical access but no water at the specific sites! The area also has a bathroom and a gatehouse.

The area is only open in June and in September because of hunting season and their are rifle competitions in September!

But the grounds also include a huge pavilion, a trapping practice area, and a shooting range in the grounds. I don’t believe we were allowed to set fires, but we didn’t need or attempt it.

I also liked being a little ways from the next RV/ camper, we personally stayed in our car though and had so much room at the ground. It made it feel like we had room to run around and experience the all the area had to offer!

Great for the season! And a great camp recommendation for RV travelin! Check it out!

GREAT SPOT! Great experience!

The Sportsman Anchor Resort and Marina was a great site! Make sure to check in at the front building to get your site passes!

There’s electric access and water access at the grounds! They are coupled sites so there’s an A and a B! There is onsite bathrooms and showers, along with a store and wood for sale for 50 cents a piece! Great deal! There’s also a playground and pool for members!

Everyone is friendly and being so close to the water was an added bonus! The docks were within walking distance to us and honestly the view was spectacular! The campgrounds are also near town so you’re not too far from the highway!

I highly recommend getting out here and camping in the lakeside campgrounds!

Great spot and close to the highway!

I was excited to see that one of my favorite areas to go swimming around had campgrounds and trails as well! The campgrounds are well taken care of and have picnic tables, fire pits and electric access! We didn’t have direct water though on our site!

There is plenty of room at each site and it’s close to several trails and the boat dock were you can splash around. The nearest bathroom is about a 1/2 mile away from the campgrounds, as well as a water facet. Also it’s a great area for a family because of the huge pavilion just a hundred feet outside the grounds!

There’s an honors system for payment so make sure to pay your site!

Nice campground for a fast stop, not really a week long area

YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE VISITOR CENTER TO PAY FOR A CAMPING PERMIT AND OHV USE!

For the Turkey Bay OHV area each site is just a picnic table and a fire pit and the sites are not numbered- it’s more a first come first serve. The sites though are close to the entrance and you park right next to the site. This site also is for RVs and tent camping but there is no water or electric access but is within walking distance of the gatehouse. The gatehouse has ice and sodas for sale to each camper.

OHVs for rent at the visitor center (just about 2 miles down the road) and trails marked specifically for them, also a couple hiking trails nearby! Bathrooms and trash onsite!

There is a dump station and potable water about a mile or so up the road near the Hunters Check Station and it’s only about 2 miles out from the Golden Pond planetarium and trails! Great area!

Not really very impressed and NOT A CAMPGROUND

This is more of an area for the RVS and members of the animal teams than it is for actual camping or parking an RV. This is used only when the fair is in town, not an all year staying ground. There’s no electric or water access at the grounds to my knowledge since the grounds aren’t for regular stay. But there are bathrooms when the grounds are open. Also it has no marked grounds so it’s a mass free for all and seems chaotic but it is taken care of in means of maintenance!

Very pretty view from the site but hard to find

Very pretty view of the riverfront! The campground was a little hard to find because it’s hidden behind an actual park but once we found it, we found that each campground had a picnic table BUT not every site had water and electric outlets. This area looks like it hasn’t been taken care of in a little bit and may need a clean up but honestly with a mow it’s a great site!

BIG WARNING would be that it floods tremendously because it is so close to the water! Be aware of rain and water rising!

One of the prettiest campground/RV parks I’ve been to!

The campground is easy to access and super well taken care of! I am honestly very impressed with this park! There is pool access, a tree for shade at every lot, a picnic table at every lot and water access as well. The store was super close by and there you are not too far from the nearest town. Super beautiful and spacious especially since you’re close to the river as well! There is also plenty of spots and seems like it’s definitely a hotspot! Definitely recommend you check it out!

Greatest experience!

Me and my friend got the chance to experience the first ray of sunlight in the morning as we camped near the dunes early this month! Perfect weather and experience!
