My wife and I did our first car camping trip in the Green Mountain National Forest last October, We found an awesome site on Forestry Rd 55 in Granville. It sits beside a nice brook and we found it to be very peaceful. The next day we traveled south to Chittenden Reservoir for a day of paddling. We found Forestry Rd 35 with the help of a an old gent selling wood by the road. It was a nice site on a secluded hillsisde with the sound of a roaring brook in the distance. I am hooked on finding more sites in the GMNF for next year

Two great locations. I recently camped in some of the dispersed areas along FR71 and had a blast. Looking at mapping them more this summer.

I have 2 Green Mountain National Forest maps. I just located FR 71 on the southern map and it looks like a fun one to explore.
