I will be traveling to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge are and there are so many fun places to visit and stay that I was wanting to get some insider opinions. Have you camped near the communities but not inside the Smoky Mountain National Park before?? If so what made where you stayed stand out??? Also any fun things to do that you would recommend as activities that are a must or restaurants that are unique???
If you want an experience that isn’t in the hustle bustle of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, we enjoy the Greenbrier Campground (www.https://www.smokymountaincamping.com/), just outside the hear of Gatlinburg at 2353 East Pkwy, Gatlinburg, TN 37738. It is great since it is flanked by running water on all sides where the family can have fun tubing right from many of the sites. Also have family activities, including movie night for kids on a big screen in the middle of the campground. Clean, safe and amidst nature vs the mayhem of the crowds. Book early as they fill up quickly!!
