Camping near Washington DC

My husband and I have a 25’ fifth wheel. We want to plan a one week trip to see Washington, DC in early May, 2022, and spend that time in a (quiet) campground that is convenient to public transportation. Any suggestions?

Check out Cherry Hill Park. Rather glampy, but is open year round. However, best to call now because it may be booked. I would consider looking NW of DC, Savage River, Burke Lake or maybe eastern shore of MD, or near Frederick, MD. Not alot of campgrounds in the greater DC area.

Probably depends on how close to public transport you want? There’s some of the NOVA parks, like Pohick Bay, or Bull Run. There’s so many Metro spots that you could just drive to nearest. Burke Lake was already mentioned and could work as well.
