About
National Forest
Welcome to Turpin Meadows Campground in Wyoming, a fantastic spot just outside Grand Teton National Park. If you're looking for a place that offers a mix of privacy and accessibility, this is it. The campground is nestled in a beautiful area with easy access to both Yellowstone and Grand Teton, making it a prime location for exploring these iconic parks.
One of the standout features here is the proximity to the Snake River. Some campsites are right on the river, providing a serene backdrop for your stay. However, be prepared for mosquitoes, especially near the water. A good bug spray will be your best friend.
The campground offers basic amenities like vault toilets and picnic tables, but don't expect any frills. There's no drinking water, electric hookups, or showers, so come prepared. Fires are allowed, which is great for those chilly Wyoming nights, but you'll need to bring your own firewood.
For those traveling with pets, you'll be happy to know that pets are allowed. The area is also big rig friendly, so RVs are welcome. Just be cautious of the dirt roads leading to the sites; they can be a bit rough and narrow, especially after bad weather.
Visitors have mentioned that the views are incredible, especially from the more exposed sites. If you prefer shade, there are spots tucked away in the trees that offer a cool retreat from the summer heat. Wildlife sightings are common, with horses and even the occasional fox making an appearance.
In summary, Turpin Meadows Campground is a great spot for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Wyoming without the crowds. Just come prepared for a rustic experience, and you'll have a memorable stay.
