Good facilities

It’s a nice KOA but my tent site was right next to the playground so I had kids running through my site and touching my truck. But they had a dollar rib night so that was great and the staff was really nice the whole time.

Charged my card unlawfully

Campground was fine and we had a nice time, however, after we left they charged my debit card an extra $200 and then another $107. We stayed for one night, and they insisted I booked two nights, which was not true and I paid in person when I arrived for one night. I even had proof of where I was the next night which wasn’t even in the same state!

It snowed!

It’s ellensburg - that’s not so surprising. But we were there for a baseball tournament just over & across the highway at a great baseball complex. The site was nice, the staff great. We filled up on propane as we were getting good use out of the furnace on the trip! We woke up to a dusting of snow that quickly turned to inches of snow. We were headed to the Oregon coast from there. The parks, teepee and amenities seem nice. Right on the river was beautiful. The sunrise… incredible!

Sites are alittle close

The campground is set up very nicely for the most part. However, it appears they tried to make more camp spaces by dividing the sites. So we are in site 33B and it was made from the original site 33. You then end up sharing the tables and pits with the site across from you. Other than that the restrooms are clean. There are sites next to the river that look very nice. The campground has a lot of nice features as well.

We loved it

Two kids and a dog in tow, we all loved it. Kind of expensive but I think that’s typical for a KOA. Kids loved the activities and amenities and we had amazing bbq and hard cider provided by host.

Nice for the Family

Convenient location, close to town. Nice amount of activities but a busy location. If you’re looking for isolation this isn’t the place but kids had a great time.

Plenty of amenities and very helpful staff

We stayed here for a night and the night guy was so helpful and led us to our spot when we got lost. Plenty of different sections depending on your method of sleep and we slept like babies without interruption all night along the river.

Not my fav

As most people know, KOA campgrounds are fairly expensive. But normally you get what you pay for. This place has all the usual amenities but what really disappointed us was the electrical hookups. The power coming to the box was only 108 at best. According to my Power Watchdog from Hughes it dipped to 104 which automatically sit off the power to protect our trailer. When the staff came out to inspect he admitted it was low but told us to just disconnect our Hughes. No Bueno!

Only campground I have ever had food delivered to my tent!

Great place to camp during Rodeo. Need to book a year in advance. Super nice sites on the Yakima river. My parents rented a cabin and we're wowwed! Nice folks and awesome scenery. Power and water to tent site. Good cell service and wifi. Hope to stay again soon

Nice people. Okay location

Clean bathrooms and very nice hosts. Price was right too. Has a small/medium playground right in the front.

The location where they put us was not great though. Basically, a gravel/snow parking lot away from everyone else but even closer to the freeway and filled with random debris. I might stay here again if I was in the area but would ask to be put in a spot further away from the road noise.

Clean, somewhat quiet, great people, and a 'tab' at the store!

They allow you to run a tab at the store.. They also have a very good (compared to any camp store I've been in) selection of beer/cider/wine.... And ice cream

People were all great and facilities are well maintained.

Yakima river

I chose a site that backed up to the river, the back of the motorhome was close to cantilevering over the river. August is a tough time to be there with 90degree weather and lack of shade. Mornings were nice with coffee sitting out watching the high paced river go by. They had a store that we were able to score huckleberry ice cream that was to die for. We ventured off on foot to the local town for breakfast. Folks were very friendly, they were not concerned about COVID all the visitors wore masks but not the locals. We will have to visit here again but not in August.

Friendly. Nice Bathroom. Loud location.

This KOA has some very strong positives, and almost equally strong negatives.

Positives: Super-friendly manager/owner. We were about 1/2 an hour after closing, and she was still there and helped us get set up. Everything (including bathrooms) was very clean. Nice playgrounds, and we were right on the river, which was nice. Probably a nice spot in the summer (we were there when there was still a little snow on the ground). Oh, and the price was great: about $22 for three of us in a tent (non-electric) spot right on the river.

Negatives: The location, while convenient to the freeway, was super-loud. It's at the confluence of two freeways, and a frisbee throw away from either. Semi-trucks shined lights into our tent all night long, and the noise was pretty bad, even with earphones. The boys slept inside the campervan, and it didn't bother them at all, so probably much better if you're inside an RV. The tent side of everything also was a little sketchy in March (to be understood I suppose…the RV side was packed), with two other folks who seemed to be sleeping in cars or under tarps.

Cool spot in Ellensburg

This is one of the larger KOAs I have been to. Plenty of room for RVs, trailers, and tents. They also have a few cabins to stay in. Our site was near the playground which was central to the camp ground. There is a TV/ play room that my littlesloved but not as much as the heated pool, yes, they have a heated pool!

This site lies on the banks of the Yakima River. My dad was able to go fly fishing and my littles were able to search for rocks and fish in the shallow areas.

The general store has all your basic needs, but a difference from other KOAs was that they sell bee and wine!

The hosts are great but are pretty strict with quiet hours (which I prefer with littles).

nothing like a shower after hoursss of riding in the hot hot heat!

setup camp at the koa which was right on to the yakima river. fired up our little msr whisperlite gasoline stove and had beef stroganoff then hit the showers. we always ride with full (safety) gear on, even when it's 100° out so nothing beats a nice clean shower facility! sites were nice and tidy. very little buffer in between sites, but if you come on a weekday like we did you'll have the entire campground all to yourselves.

Stopover campground

This is right off I90 very convenient but close to freeway so some road noise. I90 is the main east west freeway in Washington. It is right on the river and there's a pool. Rafting and fishing the Yakima river are great reasons to stay here. If you're looking for a wilderness experience this isn't the place. But for a place to stay while rafting or fishing it's great.

Yakima River Staging

KOA. Isn't that enough? OK. It's a nice park that doesn't offer much from the road, but if you get one of the sites in the back and on the river it's actually really nice and spacious! A bit older without the typical amenities, but all I wanted were hookup, big site, and waterfront. Very very busy as expected.
