Quiet, lovely campsite.

We only stayed one night enroute home to NW Arkansas. We had stayed at one of the sites on the river side of the park, but this was our first on the lake side.

We had a pull-though site with full hookups. As we were only one of three campers, the campground was very quiet. The pull-through sites are fairly close together and I wonder how noisy they would be during peak season.

The facilities were nice, but no hot water in the showers...brisk!!

Lots of deer (friendly...I would guess the guests feed them). We would stay here again as a short term solution...probably not a long-term option for us.

Tight turns

Beautiful park with on-site camp Host. Great hiking, fly-fishing and access to reservoir for boats. We called in and we’re able to reserve the last spot in the park. We described our camper, a 27’ 5th wheel, and the attendant stated “should be good, it’s rated for 30 foot”. We arrived after dark, and found the one-way paths very tight, very curvy. I don’t know how longer campers or bumper-pulls do it. Our site (A10, or AD10, or Armadillo 10) is in a tight turn and you must back up a steep grade, over the stump of a recently cut tree (if the tree had been there I’m not sure we would have made the turn at all, never mind backing into the spot). We made it, after 30 min of trying and with the help of awesome neighbors. Will 10/10 be back, but will pick our spot carefully.

This is camp area 2 close to stevens gap

This was a great weekend even though we went when it was pretty chilly but it was a lot of fun watwr is clear and the kids had a lot of fun looking for crystals we found a very secluded part and had it all to ourselves it was nice it’s camp area 2 if it close to this Stevens gap there was an island straight out from us if we would’ve had kayaks it would’ve been fun to go out there! Also woke up to bald eagles flying over just a relaxing place all in all!

BlueJay Drive

I had campsite 15 and it was probably one the prettiest ones on the drive. The campsites were closer together than I expected them to be so if you’re trying to not be around people, this one might not work. We could hear other campers and their arguments. Regardless it was a nice peaceful place. It rained almost every day so I would get wood from the EZ mart down the street before. Everything was fully damp. Watch out for ants that definitely swarm to sting. I would recommend wearing closed toed shoes. The campsite was a little confusing at first because we couldn’t see where the tent was supposed to be but it is down the hill towards the water. Direct access to a little shore and enough trees for a few hammocks.

Beautiful. Simply, beautiful!

This place is terrific! Awesome view, abundant wildlife (we had a bald eagle perched across the cove from us for two days, when he wasn’t flying up and down the channel) and very peaceful. Fish from your tent pad if you wish because most are within 15 feet from the water.

We are seasoned tent campers so my review is based off of the Bluejay Tent Camping Loop at Stevens Gap. Each site is directly on the lake and has a level tent pad, a fire ring, a picnic table on a concrete slab, a barbecue grill and a lantern hanger. We were there the day after Memorial Day and the weather stayed in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s. Perfect hammock weather! Plenty of pines and even some oaks for shade. The marina is about a half mile to the East but all of the big boats go East from there so there was hardly any boat traffic except for a few kayaks and canoes. The only downside was the vault toilets, which I normally don’t mind, were terrible. Maybe because of the holiday weekend previous, but nonetheless, they were foul. The ones about a mile up the loop were fine so I don’t know why. I would have given four stars if not for that.
Town is just 10 minutes away with food and entertainment so it was very conveniently located. We hope to return there soon!

Super RV camping

This is a beautiful state park with both tent and RV camping. RV camping includes water/electric only and water/electric/sewer sites. Lots of pull through sites with concrete pads. Nicer and not as busy as Beavers Bend. Marina with a boat ramp, Lodge, lots of hiking trails. Tent camping on the lake.
