Directions

Located in southeastern Massachusetts. From the North: Take Rte. 3 south to exit 5, turn right onto Long Pond Rd. (west) and continue for about 3 miles to the park entrance on the right. From Rte. 495: Take Rte. 495 to exit 2 (South Carver) and the intersection with Rte. 58. Take Rte. 58 north on Cranberry Rd., follow signs. From Southeast: Rte.3 north to exit#3. Left off of ramp. Right onto Long Pond Rd, 2 miles forest entrance.

Favorite spot here

This is our favorite spot we’ve stayed in Myles Standish so far. Sites have enough privacy and are great sizes. Bathrooms are very well kept & clean, being sanitized/cleaned at least once per day that I saw. The pond is walking distance with a little beach area, we would absolutely bring our kayaks next time we visit. Beautiful walking trails right outside of the camping area. Neighbors were all very respectful and the entire campground respected quiet hours.

Didn't like it at all.

No privacy in campsites the place looks like a festival and one bathroom with 2 toilets and 1 shower. It does have a water spigot neat bathroom as well as dish washing station. There aren't really any trails unless there paved. The park ranger liked to bother people for stupid stuff like the base being too loud even through we had just started unpacking.

Wooded sites near a pond

There are 2 Fearing Pond loops at Myles Standish State Forest, the H & I loops. The H loop entrance is closer to the Charge Pond loops and is higher above pond. This loop is better suited to the larger trailers/tents with more space to drive around a loop , but some spots have slopes. The I loop's best feature is a small beach that is easily accessible from all sites. They've done a lot of site restoration and the fact that it didn't open in 2020 helped. In spite of that, many of the sites have awkward approaches and there is a large parking lot closer to the bathroom. There are no hookups, but there is a dump station available. Water is available, but no electric hookups. Fire rings and picnic tables provided.

The forest has miles of biking trails, ponds for swimming, fishing, and boating, and even cranberry bogs to explore (though harvest is late in the camping season and this section is not open at that time).

Cell phone coverage is poor to absent in the forest, so download maps for offline use prior to your arrival.

Plymouth is nearby for a any forgotten provisions and for sightseeing. Erickson's ice cream cafe is near the entrance if you need a treat!

My personal favorite place to camp

I personally love this location. VERY close to an amazing swimming area. The area where the sites are is a great location. Of course, certain spots are better than others but nicely spread apart. I prefer Fairings Pond to Charge Pond. This is a no brainer for me and my family. (NOTE: It's a shame but since COVID-19 Fairings Pond camping sites will not be opening up until 2021)

Old time favorite!

I love this place. Been coming here since I was a kid. Its only gotten better. Newer amenities. Clean andre you have many options in regards to Vvollege Pond, Fairings Pond and more. Miles of paved bike trails. Can be a bit congested at times but great place.
