Prado Regional Park: Has been one of our fav’s

This the second time we’ve stayed here. It’s always very scenic and SO quiet it’s very peaceful. But lucky us this time some campers came in apparently for the wknd and played their music so loud you could hardly hear TV. Why do people do this? I don’t enjoy other people’s parties and prefer not to hear it. Camper walls are pretty thin. Whatever wood they were burning gave us both headaches and the loud music they shared with the park didn’t help. If you want to play music outside that’s your prerogative but it’s my prerogative to not hear it!!!!!!!

Geese and duck haven.

Very large park with something for everyone. Golf, disc golf, shooting range, soccer fields, baseball fields, playground, equestrian trails and paddle boats.

Beautiful Park, terrible bathhouse

Really nice Regional Park with spacious campsites with fire pit and table. There's a lake for fishing, good roads to ride bikes on, lots of grass areas, mature trees, playground. Unfortunately the bathhouses are disgusting. There are plans for new ones but no way I'd shower in them at this time. Also they charge $1 for five minutes. The second bathouse was closed due to sewage pipe breaking. The ranger was great as was the reservation person. When I complained about filthy shower the ranger came and personally cleaned them and apologized for how they were. Will definitely come back when they update facilities.

Absolutely amazing

Very easy pull through site, full hook ups. Friendly welcome, very reasonable rates .Met some friendly campers. Just a great stay.

Not what it used to be

We have camped here before, was quite nice. We have run all sorts of OCRs here (Spartan, Warrior Dash, etc) and it was always a good place.

It’s changed. Everything is dead, not a blade of green grass to be found, the lake is a cesspool, the entire park is just run down.

Although there are many “urban campers” here, there were none that harassed anyone or disrupted the general sense of safety here, just know there is a feeling that you’re in a homeless encampment.

Prado National Park

It's a nice park great for long walks and trail riding on bikes great for the dog 🐕 also a bit windy so you need to keep a eye on your awning, great cell service with at&t .

2 weeks at prado.

So far it is pretty nice we have full hookups 30 or 50 Amp most of the grass is dead I'm guessing because no rain pretty clean great cell service.

First time we were treated like trash but

Came back in RV and got treated different first time we were in tents. Ranger totally reporemend an employee right in front of us very unprofessional and rude. As for our next few times were completely different. Had a blast the ducks were kind of snooty no fault of the park, lol but we still fed them. Saw some wild turkeys running around in back of the grounds. That was so awesome. They do have a firing range.

Was fine until

After agreeing with somebody who had an RV they said we could keep our tents pitched on the site then 3 days later the ranger came and demanded that we paid for staying there when the person that we are staying sharing the site with you had already made an agreement and it had already been paid for an RV and tents and as far as I know they cannot receive two different payments for one site that's cheating but other than that we had a great time the flies we're kind of crazy mosquitoes mosquitoes were pretty crazy but that goes with the regions of camping we didn't try this place yet with an RV but we will despite what happened to his last time at some point

UPDATE

WE HAVE NOW CURRENTLY TRIED WITH AN RV and is definitely a huge difference then just tank camping they have full hookups no internet and you can get as far away from the lake or as close to the lake as you want but they pick your campsite for you parking around the lake is good they have a little water park but we didn't get to experience all too much as for lots of things are still closed due to covid no fault of the camping site people's

Centrally located but needs improvement!

Pros:

- location; easy to get to from LA County

- lots of campsites

- showers (bring quarters and the cost is $1.00 for @5 minutes

- playground and splash pad kept the youngins entertained

Cons:

- no lighting in restrooms; it was somewhat difficult taking my two toddlers to the restroom to potty in the evening before we turned in

- restrooms got really nasty in the evenings; it would be nice if the restrooms were cleaned multiple times a day

- non-enforcement of quiet hours; there were a few groups that were having too much fun well past midnight and no ranger/staff around to ensure quiet hours were adhered to

- ants galore; ants, ants and more ants and they got into everything

- no fishing allowed due to toxic algae

- horrible cow dung smell permeated the air

Lots of Flies

This would be a great park but there are a lot of flies due to it being near cow fields. Well it is Chino. Great Lake for fishing. Large campground. The spots are nice. Hook ups.

Nice sites wide open

The sites here are pretty nice and far enough apart to have some privacy. With the local dairies are more insects than many campgrounds. Can be annoying. Some of the grassy areas have thorny stickers in them. Overall, nice camping if you’re OK with a few bugs. If I member correctly, summertime has more flies than you might really want.

Beautiful, versatile park/campground

I grew up around in the area so I have been to this park quite a few times for a few different reasons. It is a very expansive and versatile area. There is a lake that is view able from almost every area. They have camping, horse back riding ( near by that rides through the park), disc golf course, fishing, and events. I have gone to the civil war re-enactment they hold every year. I participated in a 5K mud run. This is on top of visiting to use the disc golf course, have a picnic and go horse back riding via a close by equestrian farm. Its a beautiful park that has many different uses that can fill up your weekend.

Side note:

It does cost about $8-10 to enter the park per vehicle.

I believe the campsite run $40-50 depending on day of week and events and this included hookups.
