Overview

Hickory Creek sits on the extremely popular Lewisville Lake near Dallas, Texas. The almost 30,000-acre reservoir attracts a fair amount of visitors in summer months with warm water temperatures and excellent fishing opportunities.

Natural Features

The lake stems from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in northern Texas, and offers little visibility, but plenty of room for boating and watercraft. The park sits on the Hickory Creek Arm of Lewisville Lake, very near to the suburbs of Dallas, Texas.

Nearby Attractions

Several public golf courses are located around the lake, and horseback riding opportunities are available, too. Hickory Creek is just 35 miles away from downtown Dallas.

When traveling North on I-35E, take exit 458A toward Swisher Rd/FM-2181 onto S stemmons Fwy. Continue onto N Stemmons Fwy toward Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn right on to N Lake Dallas Dr towards Hundley Dr/Turbeville Rd. Turn sharp right onto W Hundley Dr towards Hickory Creek. Continue on Turbeville Rd, and turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.__ When traveling South on I-35E, take exit 457 toward Lake Dallas Dr onto Stemmons Fwy. Then, take ramp towards Turbeville Rd/Hundley Dr/Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Turbeville Rd towards Hickory Creek. Turn left onto Point Vista Rd. After 0.5 miles, Hickory Creek Campground will be on the right.__
