Close to caves, but !

The location is great. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms were fairly clean but the lights are on a timer so they go out on you when you're in the stall. The worst part is the lots are so sloped that it took all my wood, stackers, levelers and a bit of luck to get my camper level. In all my years camping I've never been on such an incline. The water was rusty well water, but tasted ok after my filter setup. The power showed an open neutral in the 30 amp hook up so I ran my cable to a close by empty lot and it tested ok. The camper next to us had their truck doors open and radio cranked up all day amd into the night. We asked if they could turn it down a little and they just laughed. I normally don't say anything to anyone camping but it was just so rude. I was walking up to the front desk to complain but they finally turned it down some when they saw me walking to the front. The wifi was spotty at best and we had zero Verizon cell service. Overall I would stay again, but I will try to find a more level spot if they have any.

Great Campground for everyone

This Campground was pretty great! My wife and I stayed in a rather large tent site and my parents stayed in an RV site. The RV site was rather small without much personal space. But it worked for what they needed. The tent site was decently secluded and near a nice small pond.

The campground put on a free BBQ for all of the guests one of the nights! It was very good and well thought out. They also put on a very long firework show that night which was awesome! We must have came the perfect weekend.

The restrooms were rather large and and worked fine. As well as the showers. There are also a few nice looking cabins! There is a camp store in the office, but it's rather small without anything interesting. There is a large barn with a few arcade games that the kids seemed to like.

The best part about this Campground?? DOGS ARE ALLOWED!! We were so grateful of this because we love taking our dog camping with us!

Very close to all the caves and trails

This was a nice campground extremely central to all frequented trails in the area . We stayed on the electric/ water side of campground . Any staff we encountered was friendly and helpful along w each and every camper thanks fully . Nice atmosphere and pool was a blessing w 90+ degree days . There’s a pretty good size game room also that kids loved . Bathrooms on side of campgrounds we stayed near were under construction. Full hook ups on other side were nice and now we know to try and book over there. One of caves you can walk right from camp.

Secluded primitive sites, quiet, family friendly

This place is off the beaten path, meaning that you probably will lose cell service getting to it, so make sure you have general directions. We have Verizon and had no cell service while there (which was pretty nice actually). We stayed in a primitive (no electric no water) tent site just down the hill from the campground set a little bit off into the woods. It was certainly private, with only one set of tent campers about 100 yards away. Bring your bug spray for sure! (We stayed in June.) Game barn for kids, there's also a pool that we didn't make it to. There are RVs off in the distance as well as cabins. Cabins didn't look well kept. Beware: there are TONS of raccoons, as in dozens and dozens that like to roam around at night. They were fine, just curious and woke us up with their communication a few times at night. They will come right up to the tent and sniff and touch the tent, so don't be concerned. They're just very active at night. My guess is people have fed them and/or garbage is not always secured. Showers and bathrooms were subpar. I still used both but some showers weren't in working order. We would like to come back to this area and explore Hocking Hills more, but would probably try out a different campground.

Much to offer

This campground has a lot to offer from the game room to the pool. The location is excellent in relation to the attractions in Hocking Hills. Management and staff is very friendly and helpful.

AWFUL PLACE TO STAY

My family stayed at the Cedar cabin over Labor Day weekend (September 2021). We were very excited to stay, play all the games offered, and have a relaxing weekend. Our experience was anything, but that. The cabin smelled so bad that we could hardly stay inside. It smelled like a mix between musty, mold, and bad cleaner. In fact, this ended up aggravating my son's asthma to the point where we had to check out early. We inquired about a refund and never got an answer until a month later(which they declined the refund request). The place was so dirty and nasty that we had to clean the dishes and all the counters before we even unpacked. The putt-putt course was closed, half of the arcade games did not work, and our firewood was stolen when we were exploring the area. The"prizes" you could redeem your tickets for were the cheapest toys I have ever seen. I was tempted to give my kids$10 each and go to the dollar store to get some"real" toys. We paid nearly$600 for the weekend and definitely did not get our money's worth. Please, please, please, please DO NOT stay here ever.

Happy camper

The campground was very rustic. Everything you want to see is nearby. I was their 2020 in August. The water was not drinkable. They have a gem 💎 but need to upgrade.

Very nice campground

We’ve stayed twice at this campground and have had a great time both times. It’s located very close to Hocking Hills State Park. Some of the tent sites are on an incline, but the RV site we had (site 24) was very spacious. There’s a a nice pool and nature trails. There’s even a trail to Ash cave from the campground.

Love this place!

This campground offers awesome views for the sunsets/sunrises, trails on the property that leads to beautiful scenery in the heart of hocking hills. A pool to swim in if you want. They offer primitive camping as well for the more secluded camper. The staff are friendly and helpful. Mark, who lives on the campgrounds goes above and beyond expectations! Plenty of wildlife to see. This place brings you back to your roots of nature.

Pictures are deceiving

Stayed in July 2020 and it sure wasn’t like pictured! The mini golf is not even in use it is so bad. The pool was not open and looked like it hadn’t been in some time (even though when we called they said they were opening it right then) haha. Didn’t use the bathrooms or shower so unsure of them. Bought fire wood and was twice as expensive as anywhere else. Pro: the fishing pond for our grandson.

Not bad

Had a good time here with family. Place was straight out of a movie with a mini golf, arcade and small pool. Camp store had a little bit of everything. Campsites in the woods are a bit close and on a slight incline. I would go back. Located perfectly to get to multiple places of hocking hills.

Kitschy

Older campgrounds with a lot of things to do. Put put golf and a fun small arcade, although dated, were great for down times inbetween hikes. The pool was a little bit too dirty for me but the kid liked it enough to cool down in. Showers and bath house were relatively clean. A lot of campers, which makes it harder to keep up with during the day but its always mopped and ready the next morning! Camp shop had a little bit of just about everything you forgot to pack. Workers were ALL super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the shaded walk in sites. Very few of these were level. 125, 120 and 138 looked like better spots than 121(our site). If you want shade, these are the spots to be, all other primitive sites are really out in the open with little cover. Beware of parking down there if its raining or you expect rain. There were a lot of people, from cars to trucks, that got stuck down that little hill and had to be towed out! Unpack on the gravel drive and park up the hill would be my suggestion in cases of rain. The water spigots were well, of course, but you better let it run for a long bit! I've never seen such brown water at camp. This place needs some upgrades and a little attention here and there but it was a fun place that I would recommend if the state park is full up and you are lookin for a place near by!

A little outdated, but still a great choice!

We have returned to this camp ground four times! Everything is quite outdated especially the park and mini golf. With that said it was a great time. It has mini golf, a pool, park and small game room which is awesome for camping with kids. It offers rustic cabins for those that dont tent camp or have a rv. On this particular trip it was chilly and we were staying with small children so we went the rustic cabin route. There's a small pond for fishing and a church from the 1800s and all together a beautiful place to walk around. The best part is you can walk to ash cave from your campsite! There is a connecting trail right at the front of the campground. It was a fairly simple hike too.

Great Location But I'd Rather Camp Elsewhere

The location was great. Right near Ash Cave and Cedar Falls with easy access to main highways.

Check-in process was fine, but the attendant was short with our group and failed to mention they have WiFi at the campground office. Zero cell service in the entire Hocking Hills park so that would have been great to know.

They failed to enforce the 11 pm - 8 am quite hours. Could hear people talking and playing loud music into the night. The showers were also pretty dirty.

If you're looking for a good rustic camping experience this is not the place for you. There was a dirty pool and pond with a run-down putt course and a few pool tables.

I would not stay here again.
