Welcome to Big Bog State Recreation Area, nestled near Waskish, MN. This place is a gem for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature. The campground is open year-round and offers a mix of tent, RV, cabin, and even glamping accommodations.

One of the standout features here is the Big Bog Boardwalk. It's a mile-long aluminum walkway that takes you deep into the bog, offering a unique perspective on the area's flora and fauna. You might even spot some carnivorous plants along the way. It's a must-see, trust me.

For those who love water activities, you're in luck. The campground is right next to the Tamarack River, which flows into Red Lake. You can rent kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards at a reasonable price. Many sites even have small docks, making it easy to launch your boat or just relax by the water.

The campground itself is pretty cozy, with sites that are close together. This makes it a great place to meet fellow campers, though if you're looking for solitude, you might want to consider one of the more secluded spots or cabins. Speaking of cabins, they're a fantastic option for families, offering a bit more privacy and comfort.

Amenities include drinking water, electric hookups, showers, and toilets. There's also a market nearby for any last-minute supplies. Pets are welcome, so feel free to bring your furry friends along.

Whether you're here for the fishing, the hiking, or just to unwind, Big Bog State Recreation Area has something to offer. Enjoy your stay!
