About

General Butler State Resort Park, nestled near Carrollton, KY, is a gem for campers looking for a mix of nature and convenience. This campground offers a variety of accommodations, including tent sites, RV spots, cabins, and even glamping options. It's open year-round, so you can enjoy the beauty of the park in any season.

One of the standout features here is the abundance of amenities. You'll find electric and water hookups, showers, and clean restrooms. The park also has a sanitary dump and sewer hookups for RVs. Pets are welcome, and there are plenty of grassy areas for them to roam. If you're into outdoor cooking, you'll appreciate the picnic tables and the fact that fires are allowed. Just remember, no alcohol is permitted on the premises.

The park itself is a haven for activities. There's a scenic overlook that offers great views, though some shorter folks might find the trees a bit obstructive. The Butler Lake Trail is a popular hike, especially in the fall when the trees are at their peak color. For those with kids, there are two playgrounds and a pool available for campers. You can also rent canoes and paddle boats, or try your hand at mini-golf.

Visitors have noted that while some sites are a bit narrow and close together, the overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The campground is well-lit and has a beautiful, though somewhat challenging, trail around the lake. It's also conveniently close to town, so if you forget something, a quick trip will sort you out.
