Hannah Park

Sites here have a good amount of shade which is great for summers in Florida. Check-in process is easy and park is clean and quiet. Close to beach and trails. A little bit of an obstacle course for bigger RVs with all the trees and narrow roads. This particular site is a little odd shaped. We have a 34' TT so I think a smaller rig would have an easier time setting up and more room. Even the 40' sites on this loop seem a little more narrow than our last one we stayed in between D and E. I would stay within those sites next time but still not a bad visit.

Huge park, nice sites

The beach is biking or walking distance! We caught the sunrise, so beautiful. The park just keeps going with many beach pull offs. The sites are close together, but campers are respectful and the staff were so helpful in booking our same day reservation. Great for the price, with electric and water hookups.

Cool campground and park

We stayed in site 221. We were back in the woods. Just beautiful. Short bike ride to the beach. Wish we had stayed longer than a week.

Run down and noisy

This place needs some serious work. I am struggling to see why there is only one bathroom for 300 campsites, why none of the hand dryers work, the water is beyond cold, and then the roads for the lake are absolutely mangled. This place is extremely busy and should easily have the funds to maintain their facilities. I would highly advise people to stay away from here.

Absolutely amazing

Great spot!

We rolled in last night, with 2 more nights to go. Easy beach access, great little camp store and clean lots with fire rings, water and electric, even on tent sites.

Great but no wifi options

Don’t come here expecting to use Starlink unless you secure a lakefront spot. It’s a beautiful park, 10 minutes from the beach. I haven’t checked out the bathroom facilities yet, but they seem to be plentiful with

Not just a city park

This park is amazing. Atlantic Ocean on one side; beautiful lake on the other. Campsites are roomy and shaded. Trails are plentiful. Picnic tables and fire pits at every site. Playgrounds for kids are made of heavy wood and fit the park motif. Showers are not the best, but warm water is plentiful.

N8ce place

Spent 4 days midweek in January. Sites are semi private, level & clean. The bathrooms/showers are dated and a little less desirable. A few nice biking and walking trails around the lake, short walk to the beach.

Into the woods

This is the third time this year I’ve been to this campground. I came here in February this year, then brought the family in July and now I’m here solo in December. Campground is great for a few reasons, one of which is that you feel like you’re camping in the woods vice pulling into an RV parking lot. You get full hook ups, a picnic table and a fire ring for an unbelievable price. It has great access to a very long strip of beach, which is awesome news if you’re a surfer or just a beach lover. They have miles of off-road biking trails, which seems to be a big draw for a lot of folks that come here. It can get a little noisy at night even after the 10 PM quiet hours. The camping store is good and overall i would highly recommend this campground.

Jungle

The site we stayed at (292) was fairly level, a couple of blocks under the camp side tires. No WiFi but Verizon service was good. Could pick up a few channels with the antenna, no cable at our site. I don’t think there is cable anywhere. Sandy sites. Sewer hookup was about a foot and a half off the ground with an elbow connected. I don’t think I’ll be able to drain my tanks at the site. There is a dump station. Mosquitoes were horrendous. My wife was nearly carried away.

Beautiful Area To Visit

This area is very beautiful. Camp site feels like you are sticking your camper into a little rain forest. The sites in the area where we camped were were not level at all. Be sure to bring some TV I got to help you level off.

Great Place To Camp

We had a great time camping here for 3 nights. The sites are spacious and private. They have great trails for running and walking. Also, its located a short walk to the beach which was a lot of fun. Will come back again

Park not adhering to posted hours

Sign posted at entrance clearly says “8-8 daylight savings time” yet, at 6:29pm on a Friday, the gates are closed and there’s not a soul in sight.

Nice City of Jacksonville Campground

Unable to find available sites on Amelia Island/Fernandina we found Kathryn Abby Hannah. Not so far away and the Mayport ferry ride was pleasant. Mosquitos were huge, walks on the beach great, loved nearby seafood markets. Best for small rigs, we have a NOBO. Let's go again.

Mixed feelings

Hanna park was a mixed bag for us. The park location was nice, near Mayport. The park is beautiful with lots of fun things like trails, fishing, bike and kayaks. It has a big lake on one side and miles of ocean on the other side. The campground was a surprise because the sites were small, not easily accessable and not very private, and beach access was a bit of a distance to walk. Bike rentals are another way of going to the beach, but the elderly would have to drive. The store is convenient, the restrooms are ok, the laundry was closed.. I have mixed feelings, but the kids (11yr olds) had fun.

Huge campground

This park is gorgeous an very big. Awesome biking riding be sure to bring them so many trails an ride your bike straight to the beach. Site was kinda small and not very private. Also bathroom was a kinda far from our site as well. But this campground had a stocked pond close to beaches even had a gift an supply store. I really enjoyed this trip. Keep watch for your food even though we had ours away a huge racoon came in an stole some doritos lol. Bathroom was under construction but clean. Absolutely go back an recommended this park for sure. Love jacksonville

Jungle vibes

Great amenities here and the scenery is absolutely beautiful! Several bike and walking trails that we enjoyed. Also have bikes and kayaks that you can rent. We spotted a couple gators on our kayak trip. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is bc the spaces are pretty tight. Also, the bathrooms are pretty crunchy.

Great getaway

We've gone to Hanna Park as a family for at least the last 20 years. It's definitely a great place to stay for the whole family. Took both of my kids for the first time recently, and it was the first place we took our daughter camping.

Old Florida

We were nestled in a palm Hamic at the back of the campground with no one around us. The campsite was well lit and they were lights on the electric box which was nice.Not too far of a walk to the beach but if you have young children bikes or a wagon is a good idea or you can drive. The campground was very quiet at night. Plenty of hoot owl’s to lull you to sleep.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Love this place. Great setup for tent camping. Make sure you check the privacy level of your site when you book. It ranges from a decent enough amount of privacy to right up in people's business. Easy walk to the beach, which was mostly abandoned for the entirety of my stay. The staff was super friendly, and they have pretty much anything you could need in the store on-site. Can't wait to to back!

Kathryn Abby Hanna State Park, FL

Located in Jacksonville, Florida this state park is one of the most impressive places we’ve stayed. The surroundings make you feel as if you’re staying in a jungle. The park is massive and offers cabins, RV sites and tent sites. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept. The park offers a variety of activities including mountain biking trails, access to a lake and several beaches. We spent one day fishing and had a great time! Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table, along with full hook ups. The store has everything you could possibly need and sells firewood and propane. Book online to see photos of what each site looks like to make sure you get as much space as you need for your size rig.

Woods and Beach

Cute little camp spots in the woods with decent privacy. Very close to the beach for total serenity. Pets are allowed. Lots of mountain biking in the park, which is a popular place for people to go to in Jacksonville. There’s just too Many mosquitos and the park needs a good prescribed burn.

Threading the Needle

This park makes me think of The Jungle Cruise at Disneyland. It is heavily forested and the sites are literally like threading a needle. Even on the map they look close together chances are you won't really see or hear your neighbors. Bathrooms, shower and dump site available as is recycling and dumpsters. Close to a dog friendly beach but please use the walkways and stay off the dunes.

There is also a store with rentals and playgrounds available, walking trails and bike trails have limitations posted and entrances so be aware.

Site have water and electric hook ups but came across a bit of a problem as the outlets are installed upside down so it was really hard to insert the 30amp plug because the cord made it a very tight fit. (50amp same way) see pictures.

Good cell coverage with AT&T and Verizon.
