About

Moss Park’s 1551 acres is located between Lakes Mary Jane and Lake Hart. Enjoy boating, hiking, wildlife observation, biking and other outdoor activities during your stay. Moss Park camping is available at 54 RV/tent sites. All campsites have fire rings, grills, picnic tables, water and electric. The Moss Park entrance and dump fees are included in the per night camping charge. Sites #1-4 are designated Multi-family campsites. There is a maximum of 18 individuals allowed per site. Moss Park has five group sites available, A through E, which can accommodate up to 450 campers when combined. Sites are assigned relevant to the number of campers your group plans to bring. Camping reservations are available online only through the Orange County Parks and Recreation website.

Simple camping.

This place was a good place for a beginner camper like me. It’s close to a Walmart, to get things I forgot. It has a few trail heads and lots of boat docks. I enjoyed fishing and wild cranes.

Finally, a quiet campground!

Maybe it’s the no pets rule, but this campground was the quietest we’ve been to and we camp nearly every weekend.

The sites are spacious with the fire rings being in the way back. This is a no alcohol park. They didn’t have any fire or ice, which is a negative. We love camping at spots that have that for purchase. The nearest Publix is about 5 minutes or so away and does have both.

They don’t allow you to have anything on the trees, which I found a little off putting. We had solar lights hung from them, just wrapped around, not attached, and were told by the camp host (? Didn’t introduce himself) they needed to come down. Staff rode around a few times and said nothing but, okay.

The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Lots of open space to run around, kick a ball, two playground sets, and a beautiful walk to Lake Mary Jane.

Quiet hours were observed, which was so nice.

I brought my T-Mobile home router and had plenty of signal to work, stream, etc.

We will be back!

Beautiful

One of the nicest, best maintained state parks I have ever been to. Verizon 2 bars, electric and water at every site and look brand new. Only 30 minutes from Disney.

Clean and Spacious

The campsights were large as were the bathrooms which were cleaned all the time. They have many miles of trails plus a nice lake for kayaking.

First time camping

We recently bought a travel trailer and decided to camp somewhere close to home for our first experience. Moss park was the perfect place to get acquainted with our new toy. Not too busy, all the amenities we needed, site was fairly leveled, plenty of room, friendly staff, and close encounters with wildlife…specifically deers walking right up to us. Bathroom showers were a bit dirty, but the rest of the bathrooms were clean. Will definitely return. No pets allowed.

Can't believe you're in Orlando

Hard to believe this is in the city feels very wild. Spread out very large sites, wildlife, lots of trees and shade. Bathrooms were top notch always clean and showers were spacious. Plenty of places to bike and hike and 2 playgrounds for the kids. In between 2 lake so plenty of fishing, boating, kayaking available. No more swimming allowed. Only downside we had was some campers sped down the dirt road and the yellow flies were out.

Great quiet campground

We stayed at spot 26. It was tucked back and was private with all the trees and for the most part fairly leveled. Cute little fire pit in the back surrounded by trees and grass. The bathrooms were very clean. The maintenance comes around and picks up trash 2-3x a day so it was never smelly or a sight for sore eyes. There was a lot of wildlife to see including deer that come up to your campgrounds.

We love this campsite. A great place for novice campers! Amenities are great and the campsite is very clean. I wish we could come here more often, but they don’t allow dogs.

Well maintained, beautiful park

We stayed at site 20. It was great! It’s on the corner of the loop, so basically a straight back in. More spaced out from your neighbors than most sights, although all the sights were spaced out well, plenty of privacy. The wildlife was amazing! We had deer walking through our site each day at dusk. There were also giant sandhill cranes around. The park has some great walking trails as well. We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed this little piece of wilderness right in our own backyard.

Orange County Fl. Parks Rool!

My phone/camera failed this trip hence only one photo. For a park so close to an urban setting exceptionally wild. Deer, fox squirrels, wild pigs, alligators,waterfowl,jet airliners. So that last item would be the one of two negatives. The park sits in the flight path of Orlando International Airport. Air traffic slows down around 10pm. Another negative the aforementioned alligators. Moss park used to have a lake swimming area until someone was bitten by said gator. Nice hiking trail through Split Oak Preserve, the Preserve is under threat by developers right now so hurry while nature lasts! Pro-tip Orange County parks have their own reservation website, they don’t show up on aggregators like Reserve America. This is a shame as the website is ridiculously clunky and hard to navigate, but each of the four parks have their own staff and phone number.

One of our favorites!

For years, I rebuffed my husband's request to camp here because it is only 20 minutes from home. But after we camped around the southeastern US for a few years, and found that our local friends also love this campground, it became easier for me to size it up as one of my very favorite campgrounds. Most sites are ample in size and some are even massive. Most afternoons bring a family of deer around all the sites and the playground and split oak forest hikes are fun for everyone. It's only a shame that they have closed down the lake access as there used to be a nice beach area for guests. This was our favorite activity as parents could sit in the shallows while the kids swam and wore themselves out. The closure is irrational in my opinion, but countywide. The facilities are clean and modern; parking is ample. There is some airplane noise from the nearby OIA, but other than that, it's about as close as you can be to the wilderness but still be in town. There is also a dock with boat parking if you want to bring your boat out. We love this park and would recommend it to anyone. Below, I note the month of my last visit, but we frequent this park and have been in all seasons except for summer.

Escape the Theme Parks

This is a great little escape from the busy areas of ORLANDO. The lake is wonderful for sunset and has rowing practice sometimes. There is a little beach and plenty of walking trails.

Great intro to camping

Has great bathrooms and plenty of hiking. Close to Orlando and 10 minutes from Publix so it won’t really matter if you forget something. If you are going with a larger group, check out the multi family sites. They are basically 3 individual sites out together with one fire ring. They’re huge and all close to the bathrooms. The rangers are very...attentive so make sure to respect their rules.

Near Orlando parks

Moss Park is a great hidden gem. It’s about 30 minutes to Disney. The sites are great and it’s nestled between lakes. Amazing wildlife too!

Quiet and peaceful midweek camping.

First timer car/tent camping and our stay was perfect. Deer roam happily around and your wake up call in the morning is courtesy of feisty Sandhill Cranes calling back and forth. Park and facilities were super clean. Nearby trash facilities checked and cleaned multiple times a day during our stay. I can't say how crazy it is during the summer time, but in the early fall it's a beautiful campsite to just hang out in and chill.

Moss Park Florida

Moss Park in Orlando Florida is a great camp ground for first timers. It has all Amenities. Bathroom, showers, large wash sink. Its also perfect for RV campers.
There is a Publix conveniently located down the road for "Oops I forgot" items.
Park beside your campsite for easy unload.
A fishing pond with a dock. (Granted there is really no fish in it but it's nice to pass the time making the attempt)
DO NOT SWIM IN THE LAKE! It is infested with Gators! There are warning signs posted everywhere. DO NOT BE THAT PERSON!.
Hiking trails
LOTS of Sand hill Cranes and a family of Deer that frequent each campsite. (Obviously fed by rule breakers, they have no fear of people)
SANDHILLS ARE THIEVES!! BEWARE!! (Video posted of after I thwarted them from eating our food)
I do not recommend going in the spring or summer. It was dreadfully hot.
There is Power and water located at each site.
My only real issue was the biblical swarm of flying roaches at sundown. In the morning SHAKE your stuff for hitchhikers.
First time camper tip: When you arrive to the camp ask for tent set up help. They will gladly assist.

Small but wild

This is a small but nice park, with friendly and helpful staff. It is a little oasis in Orlando, and will forget rhat you are in the city. There is a lot of wildlife to view.

Nice shaded car camping

Moss park is a nice city park with a lake and lots of hiking trails and some playgrounds. It's a great place to take the family. The sites are very well shaded and they have potable water and electricity. There are bathrooms and showers.
