Couldn't stay

I'll start off by saying the campground was really nice, and we were bummed we couldn't stay. As soon as we got out of the truck, we were swarmed with flies. So we hopped back in to find a different spot, thinking it would be different. It wasn't. There was nothing we could do to battle the flies. So we left. When we got to our next stop, we spent 60-90 minutes killing the hundreds of flies that got into our trailer. The campground seemed pleasant and well kept. It would have been nice if it wasn't for the relentless swarm of flies everywhere.

Out of the way but nice spot

Seems to be popular among fisherman. I seemed to be the only person not there to fish. Electric, water and toilets on site - no showers. T-mobile service good. No trails nearby.

Great Stop Over

Pleasantly surprised at the quality if this BLM camp ground. Each site has a concrete slab covered with a hard topped shade structure covering a picnic table and BBQ grill. Just past this there is a fire ring. Sites are well spaced and most have a tree or two. Pit toilets and surrounding areas very clean. In mid-October there were about 4-5 other tents/RVs.

Beautiful but not Free

The road here is paved with some spots gravel. A little bumpy on the way in but not rutted, we have a 28 foot truck camper. Very easy to drive on. We rode our bikes down to the docks and the water was very low so, a lot of bugs and algae IN the water. We heard coyotes screaming every night (which was amazing!) The view is absolutely breathtaking. Locks on the electric sites, no showers and one of the toilet huts were closed off (closest to the lake). There is no wood here or for sale here so be sure to bring your own. It got a little breezy each day but calmed down at night. Very hot during the day and very COOL at night. Great sleeping weather! We also seen a cat roaming around and it woke me up around 3am crying at my window. Very clean and if it wasn’t for the flies (so many flies. more than i’ve ever seen in my life..) and having to pay a new fee i would have given it 5 stars.

Beautiful, quiet, perfect sleep.

This was a very pretty, high desert site with view of the water. Only 7 miles off the highway. Perfect sleeping weather.

Gorgeous views

Of Salmon Creek Reservior. Very well maintained campground with rain/sun shelters, fire pits, water, tables on paved pads as well as some more primitive looking sites. It's high desert, so not loads of privacy but sites are well spaced. Great boat launch and swim area. We came in May and weather went from 90 to 55 in a day, with wind. Cell and 4G service which seemed weird.

Very nice place in May, but may get super busy with water sports in summer . I'm concerned that it could be generator city when larger RVs roll in. Giving it 2 stars because the wind was viciously cold and hammered us the entire time. If that is the usual, hard for minimalist campers, fine for big rigs.

Ok place to overnight

Stopped here on way south to NV because there wasn't much free camping to be found on the route. Unfortunately it was during the massive western fires and the horizon was smoky. Couldn't really see anything but smoke, scrub brush, and lots of flies. The flies were horrible. Half the campground was under construction - should be nice later. There is a dump station, which is nice. There were only 2 sites left at 4pm and the last one was taken by an RV behind me. The rest of the open CG was full of fishermen and invisible men in camo from head to toe in muddy trucks - assume hunters as Idaho allows everything to be killed in early fall for some reason. The road in was in good shape, but it's far to drive if you were to find it full - so I wouldn't try it after 4 pm in hunting season.
