Needs Some Love

Wolf Run is a nice-ish camp ground. If you're just looking to chill at your campsite, it'll do. If you camp with the goal of hiking and swimming, I would look elsewhere.

The state park really doesn't have a ton to offer in ways of entertainment. The swimming beach is small and in direct view of a road that runs nearby, it's nothing to write home about. The hiking trails are not well maintained, and there are really only two.

The campground is passable. The initial site we booked for Memorial Day Weekend was super muddy, very small, and did not have a picnic table. I was able to switch to a different site fairly quickly over the phone. The site we moved to was bigger and slightly more secluded. Sadly our fire ring was a safety hazard as it was riddled with holes at the bottom. It also had a very small grate for cooking, meaning we had to build the fire up against the side of the ring in order to cook. The majority of people who camp here are using generators, so it can get a little loud in some of the loops at times.

I will note that it is possible that the campground would have received some updates before opening for the season if COVID had not hit.
