Not for Camping But Great For Family Day Out

When searching the Smoky Mountains for locations of interest I stumbled upon this spot. Not a camp but a nice place for a family outing before exploring. The pavilion area is large and spacious and amenities there allow you to have a great family gathering. If you are driving through for a day trip and need a good stop try this one or you can make arrangements to host your events here.

I wouldn't typically review a space like this however on some listings you will find this listed as "dispersed camping" however when I inquired about this site it is clearly regarded as a non-camping area. Many of the areas of the Smoky Mountains do have hikers passing through as a part of the Appalachian Trail, however this is not an official shelter stop.

  • Really cool tunnel near this pavilion cut right through the mountain, you have to pull off and see this when you travel it is pretty awesome and just beside the shoulder pull off a perfect area to do a little fishing
