Beautiful but cramped

For a weekday, this place was still quiet full. We got pretty lucky and grabbed the first good looking spot we found when we pulled in. After registering and paying we realized there was another loop with even more sites that were somewhat more secluded and private. Drive past the playground, you'll find more sites there.

Pros:

1. The trails are super cool. Best part of the campground IMO

2. The trees help create a cool environment in the summer, temperature wise. Good for car campers.

3. large picnic table

4. Good choice for families with kids who want to play/explore

Cons:

1. Kids running around and adults walking through your campsite

2. related to that, privacy. Even if groups stick to their site and the trails, there is still little privacy. Neighbor played a loud movie until late.

3. Again related, very small sites in most of the spaces

4. men's bathroom was out of order so my partner had to use the port-a-potty

5. never met the host, but they had an unleashed dog that jumped at our small puppy (ultimately it wasn't aggressive but you don't know how a stranger's dog is going to behave. It was still a big dog vs. a little dog and a scenario that would not have occurred had the dog been properly leashed). Host site was also a bit of a mess with trash left out (both bagged and cans/bottle on table) overnight? Good camping etiquette wasn't really being modeled, both by host and other neighbors.

Maybe we just had bad timing. I might try this campground again, but it is probably worth it to continue your search if you like more privacy and quiet.
